In the town center, across the street from the strip mall, there is a small community of homes. These homes are nothing fancy, they are all single detached homes; most have two or three, at most, bedrooms and one bathroom. The third home from the intersection is the home where Paola Sanchez-Lorenzo and her son, Alex, have lived for years.

For years, Paola just rented a small apartment in the town center. But once her parents died, they left her a small, but handsome, inheritance, which she used to buy the home free and clear. She was grateful for the house, because by that time she had given birth to Alex, and she needed the extra bedroom.

Now, Alex is standing in the living room of the home. There is a small fireplace in the corner of the living room, and he is holding a picture of him and his mother that was taken at Christmas time many years earlier.

"Mama," he whispers as he looks at the picture. "I won't let Orvilla get away with this. I will find you, even if it is the last thing that I do."

The night of the gala, Paola and Alex agreed to confront Orvilla about her wrong doings towards the Thornton children. They had wanted her to hear them out as he wanted to reveal that he, too, is a Thornton since Paola and Samuel had a torrid affair years earlier. However, when he went to talk to Orvilla, Arrow intercepted him and revealed that they had kidnapped Paola. When he spoke to Orvilla, she agreed to tell him where his mother was, if, they both left the Barracuda Blue.

"The Barracuda Blue is my birthright," he says as he puts the picture back on the mantel. "I won't let anyone take it away from me, from us. And, I think I know exactly what I have to do."

A short time later, Alex moves quickly into Café Tropical as he is almost late for his shift as the bartender. He knows that he still has to show up for work while he is trying to find his mother. The last thing he needs is to lose his job and his source of income. But he knows that as soon as he is off work, he will continue to try to find his mother.

"There you are," Arrow announces as he moves up to the bar and sets his phone down on the bar top. "I was beginning to think that you weren't going to show up for your shift."

"I am here," Alex replies to him. "I was just running behind. You know, worrying about my missing mother, and all."

Arrow rolls his eyes back to him as he moves closer to him. "You two brought this on yourselves," he whispers back to him. "Don't forget that."

Just then, Arrow's phone lights up with a new incoming text message. Alex sees it and, then, realizes that Arrow's phone could be the key to finding his mother. He watches Arrow punch in his passcode and he, immediately, turns around and writes it down on a piece of paper.

"I have to go," Arrow looks back at him. "Drop the attitude, okay?"

Alex sighs back to him. "If I get into his phone, I can see who he has been communicating with about my mother. I…I will be able to find her then," he tells himself.

Two hours later, Alex is using his break to come up with a plan to get into Arrow's phone. He is in the staff lounge when he recalls seeing Lyzz one morning ordering a bloody Mary. While he made her the drink, he could tell that she was high on something because her eyes were bloodshot. He, then, recalls how he heard that she went to rehab because she was using drugs after she awoke from her coma.

"Maybe she still has some drugs in her office," he whispers to himself as he quickly leaves the staff room. He makes a beeline for the elevator. Once inside, he thinks that if he can find some of her drugs, he can use them on Arrow, which would give him access to his phone, which could reveal where his mother is located.

He steps off the elevator on the third floor and moves to Lyzz's small accounting office. He opens the door slowly to ensure no one is inside. Once he realizes that the coast is clear, he enters the office and closes the door behind him. He moves to the desk and starts to open the drawers, hoping to find a secret stash of Lyzz's drugs. He quickly rifles through the drawers until he gets to the bottom drawer. Behind a binder, he sees a small, clear bag that is filled with white powder. He picks it up and holds up to his face as he gets a smile on his face.

"Bingo," he says as he taps the bag. "You're not going to know what hit you."

After Alex found the drugs in Lyzz's office, he realized that he only had 10 minutes left in his break. He raced down to Arrow's cabin; thankfully, the door was unlocked, so he went inside. He saw an opened bottle of wine and an open bottle of water. Without thinking, he dumped some of the drugs into both bottles and stirred them around. Then, he left, and ran back to the bar. He made it back just in time for his break to end.

He was out of breath, but within a few minutes, he was calm and the rest of his shift went on smoothly. Now, he is looking at his watch as he is in the last thirty seconds of his shift. He is desperate to go back to Arrow's to see what is going on; he knows that Arrow usually leaves earlier than him, so he would have had time to consume either the wine or the water, or maybe both. On the other hand, Alex thinks, he might not have had either beverage.

"Don't think like that," Alex scolds himself. "This has to work. It has too."

There it is. The end of his shift. He quickly removes his apron and hangs it up. "See you later," he waves to the other bartender as he rushes out of Café Tropical. He moves to the exit and then rushes down the pathway towards Arrow's cabin. Once he reaches the door, he takes a deep breath and opens the door.

"Hello?" he calls out as he enters the cabin. "Arrow?"

He hears a small groan coming from the living room, so Arrow heads that direction. In the living room, he sees Arrow on the sofa passed out. The bottle of wine is in front of him with a glass that is almost empty. Alex gets a smile on his face realizing that his plan to drug Arrow worked like a charm.

Alex, then, scans the room, trying to find Arrow's phone. He realizes that it is in jeans pocket. Alex slowly moves up to him and carefully removes the phone from his pocket, although Arrow does move a little in his passed-out status.

Once he gets the phone, he stands up straight and unlocks the phone. "Perfect," Alex says as the main screen of the IPhone opens. Alex goes to the text messages and tries to see if any name stands out to him. He sees a contact with the initials DW, which strikes him as odd as all the other texts have either first names, or first and last names. He opens the text thread and gasps.

"That's it," he tells himself. "I found you, mother. I'm coming…I'm coming to get you."

Alex opens the front door to the house that he lives in with his mother and scurries inside. After he realized where Paola was being held hostage, he raced home because he wanted to ensure that he was prepared for anything that may arise.

He storms through the house to the backdoor, that leads into the backyard. Behind the door, there is a closet door, which he opens. He reaches to the top shelf in the closet and pulls out a small metal box. He moves back into the kitchen, where he sets the metal box down on the counter. He opens it and pulls out a small handgun.

He looks at the gun and sighs to himself. "I will save you mom, no matter what," he tells himself as he puts the gun in his pocket. "Okay, now I need to go to the marina. That's where the text said my mother was."

A short time later, Alex parks his car in one of the open parking stalls at the marina. He takes a deep breath as he looks down at the small building that is at the marina. The building holds supplies and is where registration is kept. He realizes that his mother must be in that building.

He pulls his gun out of his pocket and looks at it. Then, he opens the door to his car and steps out. He takes a deep breath of the night are before he moves towards the marina.

Once he gets the door of the building, he peers through the window and feels the blood drain from his face. Inside, his mother, Paola is tied to a chair with a mouth gag in. And to her left, is a man. Alex looks at the man and tries to place him. Then it dawns on him: It's Darcy Westin, the local drug dealer. His blood, immediately, starts to boil at the thought of Orvilla and Arrow hiring a common criminal to kidnap his mother.

"This ends tonight," he whispers to himself. "I'm going to save you Mama."

Back at the Barracuada Blue, Arrow groans as he continues to sleep on the sofa in his cabin. His eyes, however, slowly start to open but he feels terrible. He puts his hand to his head and wonders what the hell happened to him. When he got back to his cabin, he grabbed a wine glass and the opened bottle of wine that he didn't finish the previous night. He came to the living room and was scrolling on his Instagram feed while he had the wine, but, suddenly, he felt like the room was spinning and he felt like he was high. Only, he only had half a glass of wine.

"What the fuck happened?" he asks himself as he leans up on the sofa and slowly tries to stand up. The room stops spinning long enough for him to move into the washroom. He turns the light on and looks at himself in the mirror. He turns the tap on and splashes some cold water on his face.

"My phone," he suddenly says as he realizes that his phone isn't in his pocket, which is where he left it. "Where is my phone?"

He goes back to the living room and sees his phone on the floor by the sofa. He arches his eyebrow and moves to grab his phone. He picks it up and unlocks it. He gulps heavily when he sees the text thread between him and Darcy.

"Shit," he mumbles to himself. "This must have been Alex's doing. He…he must have drugged me to find out where Paola is. I…I better tell Orvilla before it's too late."

Back at the marina, Alex continues to stand outside the building. His mind is racing about how he should handle this. He doesn't know if Darcy is also armed, and the last thing that he wants is for Paola to get hurt.

"If I just go in, I might surprise him and he will do what I say," Alex tells himself. "Go in, pull the gun out, and demand that the son of a bitch release my mother. He'll get scared by the weapon and do what I say. Yea, yea, yea … this will work … it has to work…"

With that, he opens the door and draws his gun. "Don't move!" he shouts out as Darcy looks over in shock and Paola's eyes open wider in surprise as she starts to mumble under her mouth gag. "You release my mother right now or I will blow your head off!"

"I…uh…what the fuck?" Darcy stutters back to him. "Who the hell are you?"

"That doesn't matter," Alex grits his teeth back to him. "Like I said, untie my mother….now!"

Darcy moves over to Paola and starts to untie her. In the process, her mouth gag falls down. "Oh hijo, thank God," Paola tells him. "Please be careful."

"Don't worry Mama, nothing will happen," Alex tries to reassure her. "You're going to be fine."

Just then, Darcy stands up and fires a shot from his own gun! The bullet grazes Alex's arm, causing him to shout in pain. Darcy, then, grabs Paola and takes her hostage.

"Alejandro!" Paola screams in horror.

Alex looks at his arm and sees some blood oozing. "You bastard," he looks back at Darcy, who is holding a gun to Paola's head.

"Shut up, or you will never get to talk to your mother again," Darcy warns him as the two men lock eyes with one another and Paola tries to squirm away from her capture.

"Are you absolutely sure about this?" a concerned Orvilla asks Arrow as she pours him a glass of sparkling water and then passes it to him, as he sits on the large sofa in her office. He just finished telling her about his theory that Alex drugged him to break into his phone to find out where Paola is.

"It is the only thing that makes sense," Arrow tells his friend. "Alex has been determined to find his mother. I think he would do anything to save her."

"Yes, I got that impression as well," Orvilla nods back to him. "If he does know that Paola is at the marina, we have to take action. Darcy Westin is a loose cannon."

"What are you going to do?" Arrow asks her before he takes a sip of water.

"Leave that to me," Orvilla says as she moves to her desk and picks up the phone. She dials a number and waits for an answer. "Yes, this is Orvilla Anderson. I'd like to inform you that there is a woman who has been kidnapped and she is being held hostage at the marina. The kidnapper has a weapon and I suspect the hostage's son is headed there now. Please hurry as I would absolutely hate it if anyone was hurt."

She hangs up the phone and looks back at Arrow. "The police should be able to settle this."

"What if Darcy talks about our involvement?"

Orvilla chuckles back to him. "I am the one who alerted the police to the situation, and he is a common drug criminal. Who do you think they are going to believe?"

"Good point," Arrow tells her. "I…I just hope that no one gets hurt."

/\/\/\

Alex looks back at Darcy, who continues to hold Paola at gun point. He re-aims his gun at Darcy and glares at him.

"Let her go and no one else needs to get hurt," Alex tells him. "I just want my mother safe and sound. If you do that, we will go and no one will ever find out about what you've done man, I promise. I don't want anything by my mother safe."

"You should have thought about that before you barged in her with a gun," Darcy replies to him. "You're the one who is being aggressive here."

"Hijo, por favor," a panicked Paola says. "Put the gun down and this can end. Please."

"Listen to your mother kid," Darcy tells him quickly. "She's smart."

"No, not until you let her go," Alex says back to him. "Let her go, and we can both put the guns down."

"Alex, listen to me," Paola tells him as Darcy pushes the gun deeper into her rib cage. "If anything happens to me…"

"Nothing will happen to you…"

"Please, Alex," Paola says as a tear falls down her cheek. "Your father…he's…he's alive…"

"What?" Alex gasps as he feels the blood drain from his face. "How is that possible?"

"I…I can explain…"

"Let her go!" Alex yells back at Darcy. He, suddenly, fires a warning shot that just misses Darcy.

"You bastard!" Darcy says. "That's it, she's a goner!"

Without thinking, Alex fires his gun again as he is worried that Darcy is going to kill his mother. Darcy moves and the two bullets hit Paola! Alex screams out in horror as he realizes that he just shot his mother. Paola's body falls to the ground and Alex rushes over to her.

"Mama! Mama! Oh my God!" Alex says as he reaches her body.

Paola looks up at Alex. "Mi…hijo…" she whispers. "Remember…what…I…said…your…father…"

"Stay with me, stay with me," Alex tells Paola, but she closes her eyes and her head falls to the side. "No! No! No! Mama! Mama!"

Darcy stands up from the ground and rushes to the door to leave, but on the other side of the door, there are two police men, who draw their guns. "You're under arrest!" one officer tells Darcy.

"Help me!" Alex turns and looks at the police office. "Please! My mother! She needs help!"

The second officer rushes over to Paola and checks her pulse. "I'm sorry son, she's dead."
