Celeste
Rockwell holds her belly for a moment as she stands in her new office in the Rockwell
Mining building as she thinks about the baby that she lost recently. She knows
that she has decided to work a lot right now so she can try to get over the fact
that her baby didn't survive her fall down the stairs at the Rockwell mansion.
She moves over to her desk, where there are some mock designs of her first line
of jewelry at the company, and she can't help but get excited.
"This
is exactly what I needed right now," she whispers to herself as she looks
at one of the necklaces that she created. She quickly recalls how she saw Marat
Kafelinkov the previous day; she hadn't seen him in many years, yet alone think
of their past together. Something else she can't think of right now. "Something
to take my mind off of everything that has happened."
She looks
up when she hears a knock on her door. "Come in," she says.
She sees Stacey Rockwell on the other side of the door. "Oh, Stacey, it's
so good to see you," Celeste smiles as she moves around and hugs Stacey.
"I haven't seen much of you since you left the hospital. How are you feeling?"
"I'm much better, thank you," Stacey replies to her as they exit
their embrace.
"I'm terribly sorry to hear about Houston,"
Celeste tells her, as Stacey tries to put a brave front on.
"Thank
you," Stacey says back to her. "I'm still trying to get my head around
the fact that he is gone. But I'm trying."
"That's all you
can do."
"I heard that you lost the baby, I am sorry too. Even
though I should be upset that you slept with my brother while married to my father,
losing a child is never easy."
"I appreciate your condolences.
And, yes I did. I know I made a mistake and I guess I'm paying for it now ,"
Celeste tries to put a smile on her face. "It seems like there's been so
much tragedy lately. We need some good news for a change."
"I
couldn't agree more. That's part of the reason why I am here," Stacey admits
to her.
Celeste moves over to the bar and pours herself a glass of red
wine. "Would you like a drink?"
"Yes, please."
Celeste pours a second glass of the red wine and passes it over to Stacey.
"So, you have my attention. You seem to have an idea on how to have some
good news in this family."
"I'd like to think so," Stacey
takes a sip of the merlot. "Before the accident, I was working at the mine
at Kelsey Lake, in the cafeteria. Now that I'm healthy, I realize that I don't
want to do that anymore."
"I'm impressed you lasted as long
as you did there. I heard some of the details of the job weren't so amazing."
Stacey chuckles back to her. "That's putting it mildly! That mine, however,
will always be in my heart because that's where I met Houston. That being said,
I know I have move on and I want to do something more with my life."
"Do you have any ideas?" Celeste asks her, curious as to what Stacey
is proposing.
"I do," Stacey says with excitement in her voice.
"I'd love to work here, with you. I know you're a designer, but I have so
many ideas. I've always loved jewelry. I think I could be a huge asset to you
here."
"I
see," Celeste arches her eyebrow. "Do you design?"
"I've
often drawn, but I've never thought they were any good."
"Do
you have any of your sketches with you?" Celeste asks her.
Stacey
nods back to her as she pulls some papers out of her large Chanel bag. Celeste
takes a look at them as Stacey watches with intent.
"Well,
what do you think?" Stacey asks her.
Celeste puts her glass down
and looks back at Stacey. "These are very good! I actually think this is
a brilliant idea. I'd love for you to join my team here," Celeste tells her,
with a smile on her face. "I will need some back up with your Mom, so if
you can be on my side from time to time, I'd love the help."
"That's
a deal," Stacey smiles back to her, as they hug.
"Well then,
welcome aboard!"

"Do
you know what tomorrow is?" Vivian Blackmore asks Lucinda Rockwell as she
approachese Lucinda's table at the country club, interrupting Lucinda as she is
about to have a spoonful of the lobster bisque. Vivian saw Lucinda and knew she
had to come over and see her.
Lucinda looks up a the woman annoyed that
she is ruining her lunch. Lucinda pats her mouth with her napkin and then takes
a sip of her rose. "I haven't a clue," Lucinda finally replies to her
after the wine has been swallowed.
"Lydia and Kent are getting married
tomorrow," Vivian reveals to her as she sits in an empty chair. "The
last thing in the world I want to have happen is my ex-husband marry that woman,
especially so soon after Houston's death."
Lucinda sets her wine
glass down and knows that she does want to get some kind of revenge on Lydia Rockwell
as well because she and Kent Blackmore told the truth to Lex and Mac Rockwell
about Lex's paternity. That is one secret that Lucinda wishes had never come out,
and it is all Lydia's fault. Her family will never be the same and it's all Lydia's
fault.
"Is it now?" Lucinda asks her, not realizing the wedding
was coming up so quickly. "I had thought with everything going on in their
personal lives they'd have the decency to wait until things had calmed down."
"Lydia have decency?" Vivian laughs. "I can't let this wedding
happen. There must be something I can do to stop it."
Lucinda looks
back at her. "You've heard the latest news, haven't you?"
Vivian
shrugs her shoulders. "No, I don't know what you're talking about. What has
happened?"
"Kent is really Lexington's father," Lucinda
reveals as Vivian covers her mouth in shock. "They've been lying for years.
Kent, after losing Houston, decided it was time to come clean because he didn't
want to lose another son."
"I don't believe this," Vivian
shakes her head in disgust. "How dare he betray Houston's honour like this!
How did this happen?"
"I know exactly how it happened,"
Lucinda replies to her with a grin on her face. "And, it might just be the
thing that can help you stop the wedding."
Vivian moves in closer.
"I'm listening, Lucinda. Anything to make those two pay."

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA
Lex Rockwell slowly opens his eyes in the
heart-shaped bed in the hotel room that he is in. He looks around but puts his
head back to the pillow as he has a splitting headache from all of the drinking
he did the previous night. As he lays there, his memory slowly comes back to him.
He was at Rockwell Mining and having Kent Blackmore revealed that he, not Mac,
is really Lex's father. At first Lex, nor Mac, could believe the truth, but then
his mother, Lydia, came in and confirmed Kent's story to be true.
That's
when Lex started to drink. And he didn't stop. He does remember being at his boyfriend,
Jarek William's, condo but after that, the night is a blurr. And, he has the splitting
headache to prove it.
He tries to sit up in bed as he reaches for a glass
of water, causing Jarek to realize that Lex is awake. "You're finally up,"
Jarek smiles as he walks closer to the bed, only wearing his pj bottoms, allowing
the light to hit his toned chest.
"My head is pounding," Lex
admits to him. "Do we have any aspirin?
"Yea, I'll grab you
a couple," Jarek replies to him, as he moves over to the washroom. "You'll
probably need more water too. And a big breakfast."
"That sounds
good," Lex takes the pills from Jarek and quickly pops them. "What time
is it?"
"Almost noon," Jarek says back to him. "You
had a lot to drink last night. Do you remember coming to Vegas?"
"I was wondering where we were," Lex tries to smile back to him. "This
bed should have been a give away."
"It was your idea,"
Jarek informs him. "You wanted to
you know."
"No,
I don't know. What did I want to do?"
"Get married," Jarek
reveals as he holds up his hand to show Lex the ring on his finger.
The
sight of the ring makes Lex jolt out of bed immediately. "Wait, what? How
the hell did this happen?"
Jarek stands up to meet his husband.
"You said you didn't want to wait anymore and this would be the perfect way
for us to be together. Don't tell me you're already having second thoughts?"
"I don't know what to think," Lex admits to him, as he puts his
hand on his head. "This is all so crazy. I had a doozy of a day yesterday."
Jarek arches his eyebrow. "Why? What else happened? I knew that there
was a reason for you wanting to drink as much as you did. But, you never did say
what happened."
Lex runs his hands through his hair. "I, uh,
I learned something about me. Something that will change me forever."
Jarek shakes his head in confusion. "What did you learn?"
"Mac Rockwell isn't my father," Lex admits to him as their eyes lock,
and Jarek's face drops. "I'm not a Rockwell."
***
Mac Rockwell slowly opens his eyes as there is a small opening in the curtains
that is shining bright light on his face, as he still lays in the large king size
bed in his room at the country club. He quickly remembers the previous evening,
when he met Odette Williams downstairs and they ended up in bed together. At the
time, he needed her and he got her, repeatedly.
He runs his hands over
his face as he realizes what a mistake he made with her. He needed a distraction
since he feels like his life is slowly falling apart right now because of Celeste's
affair with Cole, Lydia taking over Rockwell Mining and Kent Blackmore revealing
that he is really Lex's father. However, he knows that using Odette for sex was
not the right thing to do. If anything he may have made things worse. But, he
has to make his life right. He can't fall any lower than this, he realizes.
He leans up in the bed and sees Odette wearing a house coat, sipping on some
coffee as she looks at something on her phone.
"Good morning,"
he finally speaks to her, as he sits up in the bed. "Have you been up long?"
Odette closes the video of her and Mac making love on her phone before she
sets it down on the dresser and looks over at him. "Not too long, no,"
she purses her lips together. "This free coffee isn't so great. Shall we
get dressed and go down to breakfast?"
Mac rolls out of bed and
pulls his pj bottoms over his naked body. "I don't think that's a good idea,"
he admits to her. "As great as last night was, Odette, I can't happen again."
Odette uneasily nods back to him. "I suppose you are right," she
tells him, not upset because she has everything she needs on her telephone. "You're
still a married man, after all."
"Yes, I am," he replies
to her. "I don't know what will happen between Celeste and I yet, but having
an on-going affair will not help things."
"You don't have to
justify this to me," Odette informs him. "I understand. I do appreciate
you being so forward with me."
"I hope I'm not hurting you
in any way."
She shakes her head quickly back to him. "Not
at all. I'm a big girl, don't worry about me. We both got exactly what we wanted
and needed," she tries to smile back to him. "Now, I'm going to shower
and then go for breakfast. I'll see myself out."
***
Stacey looks over some of the mock designs that Celeste has on her desk and
is rather impressed by what her step-mother has created for Rockwell Mining's
first internal jewelry designs. She hopes that she will be able to provide a lot
of good insight for some other pieces that could be in the collection. They realize
the first collection needs to be something special.
She looks up when
she hears the door open and immediately sees an attractive man move into Celeste's
office. "May I help you?" she asks him.
"I was looking
for Celeste," Marat Kafelinkov announces back to Stacey. "I gather she
isn't here."
"Good observation," Stacey smiles back to
him. "I'm Stacey Rockwell."
"I've seen pictures of you,"
he reveals to her. "And, I must say, you're more beautiful in person."
Stacey blushes. "That's very kind of you to say."
"I
only speak the truth," Marat says as he moves up to the desk and reaches
out his hand to her. "Marat Kafelnikov."
"It's nice to
meet you," Stacey says as she shakes his hand. "My father has told me
a lot about you."
"Only good things, I hope."
"Of course," she smiles back to him.
"So, what is a beautiful
woman like you doing for lunch?" he winks back to her.
Stacey suddenly
feels her heart move into her throat. "I appreciate that you'd like to take
me out," she replies to him quickly. "But, I'm afraid I will have to
pass. I'm grieving the loss of my fiancé and I would not want to lead you
on in any way."
"I'm so sorry to hear," he expresses sympathy
back to her. "As it turns out, I will be in Kelsey Lake for a short while.
Maybe before I leave, you'll be ready to, at least, have a drink with me?"
Stacey forces a smile on her face. "I can't make any promises, Marat.
But, again, thank you."
***
Celeste moves into the dining room of the country club, looking to grab a light
lunch. Just as she is seated, she looks over and sees Mac come down the stairs
that lead to the rooms that the club rents out. She wonders how long her husband
will stay at the club instead of at the mansion with her and his children. Knowing
that he is still upset with her, she looks at the menu, instead of moving over
to greet him. She doesn't want to rush him into anything, so she decides to give
him his space, even though she'd love to invite him to join her.
Mac
sees Celeste sitting alone and slowly moves up to his wife. "Celeste, hi,"
he says as he reaches her table.
"Mac," she replies to him
as still reads the menu.
He sits next to her causing her to finally look
back at him. "How are you?" he asks her. "I hate this
tension
between us."
"Tension?" she asks him again. "I think
that's an understatement, don't you?"
"I know I said some awful
things to you at the hospital."
"Yes, you did," she replies
to him. "But, I understand why you said what you did. I slept with your son,
after all. You have to know that I never meant for that to happen."
"It did happen though," he tells her. "And as much as I love you,
I don't know if I can trust you again."
She nods back to him. "I
feel like I'm already being punished for my mistake," she admits to him.
"My baby is dead and it is all my fault."
"Don't say that,"
he grabs her her hand. "The fall was a horrible accident. You didn't deserve
to lose your baby. Our baby."
"I don't know that it was our
baby."
"I do," he whispers to her. "I can feel it.
It was our child. You and I, we are married. We were together so many times. You
and Cole, it only happened once?"
She nods back to him. "I
swear, it only happened once."
Mac looks back at her. "I believe
you."
"I guess that's a good sign. You are trusting me with
what I'm telling you," she purses her lips together.
"This
all may take some time," he acknowledges to her. "I just
"
"What? Tell me what you're thinking."
"Every time
I close my eyes, I imagine Cole's hands on you, Cole's lips kissing you, Cole's
body next to yours
"
"Stop that right now," she scolds
him. "It happened once, Mac."
"But it happened. And that
means something. The question is, what does it mean to you?"
***
"What do you mean, you're not a Rockwell?" a stunned Jarek asks
Lex, who just revealed that Mac isn't his father. None of this makes sense to
Jarek and, if this is true, he realizes that his plan to get some of the Rockwell
money could be in jeopardy because if he's not a member of the family, how would
he ever get his hands on their money? All of his hard work could be for nothing.
"This doesn't make any sense at all!"
"I know," Lex
tells him, hoping that he will be able to calm Jarek down. "I didn't believe
it at first either, but my mother confirmed it to be true."
"If
Mac isn't your father, then who is? Why would they lie to you about this? Why
have you been pretending to be a Rockwell all this time?"
Lex shakes
his head back to him. "I haven't been pretending anything, Jarek," he
informs him. "I was lied to my entire life by my mother and father. So was
Mac. We didn't do any of this."
"Then how did it happen? I
I'm
sorry, I'm just so surprised by this."
"I am still in shock,"
Lex admits to him. "But, apparently, this happened years ago. When my Mom
started her affair with Kent Blackmore. She got pregnant, but she lied to Mac
because he just lost the Kelsey Lake mine to Kent. Lydia thought that having another
child would help ease his pain from losing the mine."
"This
sounds like a sick joke," a gutted Jarek replies to him. "No wonder
you got loaded last night."
Lex tries to smile back to him. "I'm
paying for it today," he says, touching his forehead. "I still have
a killer headache."
"Do you want to take a nap? I can try to
arrange us plane tickets home," Jarek tells him, knowing he has to talk to
Odette now because their plan will change. He just hopes his mother will take
this news okay.
"That'd be great," Lex replies to him. "And,
for what it is worth, Jarek, I don't regret marrying you. I love you and I'm glad
we are together."
Jarek uneasily smiles back to him as Lex comes
up to him and gives him a hug. "I love you too," Jarek manages to say
back to him, his mind racing in a million different directions, the very least
how he actually feels about Lex.

The next morning, Lydia sits in her bedroom looking into her mirror as she
puts her make-up on her face for her wedding, that will be taking place in a few
hours in the penthouse. She decided against getting married in a church again
or a large venue because none of her children will be coming to the wedding, and
she doesn't have a lot of friends anymore. She's trying to make it appear that
it doesn't bother her, but she does long for her children to be with her today.
After all, everything she has done, she has done for her family. She just wishes
that her children would understand that.
"I've loved Kent Blackmore
for so long," she whispers to herself as she puts lipstick on. "My children
know this. I know I've made mistakes, but I do wish that they would be here for
me today. They know how much today means to me."
She sighs as she
purses her lips together to ensure she looks okay. She turns her head and sees
a family picture sitting on her dresser. She's smiling with Cole, Stacey and Lex
next to her. She stands up and grabs the picture and holds it closer to her for
a moment.
"Maybe you'll surprise me," she says to herself,
longing for her children to be with her today. "Maybe you'll come after all?"
***
Vivian sits at the bar of the country
club and orders a mimosa, as she feels like she can celebrate today. She knows
that today is the wedding day for Lydia and Kent, but she also knows that Lucinda
gave her information that could prevent them from getting married.
She
picks up her glass and takes a healthy swig of the drink. "And, I plan on
using my ace," she whispers to herself as she sets the glass down and grabs
her purse. She pulls her out phone and dials a number, keeping her sly grin on
her face.
"Yes, hello," she says. "This is Vivian Blackmore
and I'd like to speak to the district attorney, please."
***
"Mac, I didn't realize you were home," Celeste says to Mac as she
comes into the living room fo the Rockwell mansion and she spies Mac sitting on
the sofa, reading his IPad.
He sets the IPad down, not happy by seeing
that Rockwell Mining stock is down again. "Yes, I decided I couldn't stay
at the club anymore. I need to get my life back together. And coming home is the
first step."
"What are you going to do about Lex?" she
asks him. "I know how devastating Lydia's lies must be for you. That woman
has no morals."
He waves his hand back to her. "Yes, it's devastating,"
he admits to her. "But the fact of the matter is, I am Lex's father in every
way that counts. I love him and he loves me. There's no reason that we can't carry
on the way we always have. Kent may be his father biologically, but that can't
erase the years we have spent together. Lex and I, we are father and son."
"I am sure he will love to hear you say that to him," she purses
her lips together.
"I've tried to call him but it went to voicemail,"
he reveals to her. "I'm going to give him some space. He can come to me when
he is ready to. His world has been turned upside down."
She nods
back to him as she moves to the bar and pours herself a glass of white wine. "And,
I am determined to get my company back from Lydia. I don't know exactly how yet,
but I will get Rockwell Mining back from her. She will not ruin my company, I
refuse to allow that to happen."
Celeste smiles back to him. "You
really do seem to have turned things around in your head," she tells him.
"You were in a very dark place."
"I saw the light,"
he tells her. "I can't change anything unless I have the attitude to change
it."
"You're right," she says back to him. "I guess
that just leaves one thing left."
"Us?" he asks her, as
Cole comes into the living room. "Cole, I'm glad you're here."
"What did I just walk in on?" he asks Mac before he looks over at Celeste.
"I'm not interrupting a I?"
"I was just about to ask Celeste
a question," Mac reveals to them. "Now that we are both here, Celeste,
which one of us do you love? Which man do you want to be with?"
Celeste
looks back at him in shock. "What are you asking me?"
"Yea
Dad, what is all of this?" Cole asks him, just as much in surprise by all
of this as Celeste is.
"Celeste
needs to decide once and for all," Mac explains to them. "Which one
of us she wants to be with. Do you want to be with me, Celeste? Or do you want
to be with Cole? It is your decision, Celeste, so who will it be?"
***
Lydia
finishes getting ready for the wedding that is going to take place very shortly
when she hears the doorbell ring downstairs. She feels butterflies in her stomach
as she realizes that her children may have decided to show up to the wedding after
all. She races down the stairs. "I'm coming," she says as she rushes
to the door.
She
opens the door and sees Lucinda standing on the other side of the door. "I'm
not in the mood for this today," Lydia tries to shut the door in Lucinda's
face.
"Too
bad," Lucinda barges in. "You're really wearing white for your wedding?
Really, Lydia? Everyone knows that you're not virginal."
"What
the hell do you want?"
"I
know what has happened," Lucinda turns and glares at her. "I know that
you and Kent have revealed the truth about Lexington."
"This
is none of your business," Lydia tells her as she grits her teeth together.
Lucinda
laughs at her. "Really? My son and my grandson aren't any of my business?
I warned you, I told you so many times what would happen if you told the truth."
"I've
heard your empty threats a million times," Lydia replies to her quickly.
"Now get out of my house. I have to finish getting ready for my wedding.
Lucinda
moves over to the table, where Lydia's wedding cake is resting on. She picks up
the knife that will be used to cut the cake and moves over to Lydia. "I don't
think you understand me," Lucinda glares back to Lydia, who gulps at the
sight of the knife. "I warned you about hurting my family. And now, I will
hurt you."
"Put
that down," Lydia tells her. "You're going to hurt someone."
"That's
the point," Lucinda replies with a wicked grin on her face. "I'm not
a murdered, however," Lucinda puts the knife down. She turns and throws it
at the cake, which ruins the top. "But, I will make you pay, Lydia. So, let
this be your last warning. I'm coming for you. With everything I have in me."

"Mom, we have to talk,"
Jarek yells as he opens the front door to Odette's house and quickly moves inside.
"Mom, where are you?"
"I'm right here!" Odette says
as she rushes out of the kitchen and sees her son, who is clearly panicked about
something. "Jarek, what is it? What's wrong?"
"Everything,"
he quickly replies to her. "I learned something that changes everything."
Odette shakes her head in confusion. "What could you have possibly have
learned that changes what we are working towards? We are so very close to the
Rockwell money, I can almost taste it!"
"Lex isn't Mac Rockwell's
son," Jarek reveals as Odette's mouth falls open. "Apparently Lydia
Rockwell lied to everyone for years. Lex is really Kent Blackmore's son. Lex isn't
even a Rockwell! How the hell are we going to get any of the Rockwell fortune
now?"
"I
can't believe this," she tells him in shock. "Lydia is certainly a piece
of work."
"I
don't know what to do," he admits to her.
Odette purses her lips
together, knowing that she still have the video of her and Mac in bed. Before
she can tell Jarek about this, however, something catches her eye.
"What's
this?" she asks her son as she grabs his hand. "A ring? A wedding band?"
"Lex and I got married," Jarek reveals to her. "It was before
I knew the truth."
Odette lets out a loud cackling laugh, as she
suddenly gets another idea of how to get the Rockwell money. "This is too
perfect!"
"What is?" Jarek asks her confused.
"Get your husband to update his will to leave you everything he has,"
Odette tells her son, with a wicked twinkle in her eye. "And then, kill him."

Kent Blackmore takes a deep breath
as he sees Lydia emerge in her simple white wedding dress. She slowly moves up
to him and they kiss one another on the cheek, as the wedding march plays softly.
"You look beautiful," Kent whispers back to her as she smiles
to him. He has waited for this day for so long, he almost can't believe that it
is here. "What happened to the cake?"
"Never mind about
that," she purses her lips together, not wanting Lucinda to ruin their moment.
"I love you, Kent," she tells to him. "Let's do this? Let's get
married?"
"There's nothing else I would rather do," he
tells her, as they look over at the minister, who is standing next to his wife,
who is standing in as the witness to the ceremony.
"Are you two
ready to get married?" he asks Kent and Lydia.
"We have never
been more ready for anything else," Kent tells the minister.
Before
the minister can begin, there's a loud knock on the door of the penthouse, causing
Kent and Lydia to look at one another in confusion.
"Who could that
be?" Kent asks Lydia, who suddenly thinks that one or all of her children
have decided to come to the wedding after all.
"It could be the
children," she says, rushing over to the front door. She opens it and is
shocked to see two police officer's at the door. "Can I help you?"
"Lydia Rockwell?" the officer asks her.
"Yes, that's
me. What is this about?" she asks as Kent comes up behind her, concerned
by what is happening.
"You're under arrest for corporate espionage.
You have the right to remain
" the officer starts to say as he handcuffs
her.
"No, no!" Lydia cries over top of the officer reading
her the rights. "You've made a mistake! I haven't done anything wrong! Kent,
please! Please stop them!"
"Come on, Mrs. Rockwell," the
officer says as he leads her out of the penthouse in her handcuffs, as Lydia pleads
for Kent to help her while she's been carted off by the police.
"Kent!
Do something," Lydia screams, as she's dragged through the hallway of the
building. "Kent!"
