"Celeste
is pregnant and Marat is the father," Houston Blackmore blurts out to Stacey
Rockwell, as her husband Marat Kafelinkov stands behind her and Cole Rockwell
and Celeste Baldwin are on the steps of the Rockwell mansion. Stacey and Marat
were just about to leave for the airport to go to Moscow, because Marat has taken
over his family business, Kremlin Diamonds, because his father Yuri Kafelinkov,
was killed in the explosion at the mansion triggered by Odette Williams. Houston
has been desperate to think of a way to ensure Stacey doesn't leave town, so when
his mother, Vivian Blackmore, revealed that Celeste was pregnant with Marat's
child, he knew he had to stop Stacey.
"What the hell are you talking
about?" Stacey asks her former fiancé in horror. She can't believe
that he would go to such lengths to try to prevent her from leaving Kelsey Lake.
She knows that he's still trying to be with her but this screams like a desperate
plea. "Celeste was told that she couldn't have any more children. This is
you grasping at straws."
Cole looks over at Celeste, who puts her
hand over her face. "Celeste, are you okay?" he whispers to her, wondering
what is happening. Everything is seemingly happening so quickly.
She
looks back at him with tears in her eyes, unable to hide her emotions. "My
God," Cole says out loud, realizing her tears are a sign of the truth. "It's
true? You're pregnant with Marat's child?"
"I'm so sorry,"
she whispers back to him as a tear falls down her cheek. "It
it only
happened once."
"Wait, it's true?" Stacey gasps as she
turns to Marat, feeling her blood boil at the thought of him sleeping with Celeste.
"You slept with Celeste? How could you?"
"Don't try to
sugar coat this either, man," Houston looks at Marat, knowing that he won't
let him get away with this. "You got another woman pregnant! That's twisted."
"Shut up, Houston," Marat spits back to him. "This is between
Stacey and I."
"Like hell it is," Houston moves closer
to him. "This involves all of us, and the fact that you two have been lying
to everyone."
"It only happened once," Celeste chimes
in. "And, it happened to produce this miracle baby! I wasn't supposed to
have any more children. I'm sorry we've been lying. It's all just happened so
fast. Our heads have been spinning."
"And, now you're going
to have another man's child," Cole looks at her in disgust. "What were
you going to do? Lie and pretend the baby was mine?"
"No,"
Celeste shakes her head back to him. "I was going to tell you after Stacey
and Marat left town."
"I don't believe a single word you have
to say," Cole lashes out at her, fed up with all of her lies. "You've
lied to me so many fucking times, Celeste!"
"I'm so sorry!'
she cries back to him. "Please, you have to hear me out, Cole! You have too!"
"Come on, Stacey," Marat touches his wife's shoulder. "We
can talk about this on the way to Moscow. We have to get going."
"You expect me to leave with you?" Stacey gasps back to him, as she
whips his hand off her. "You've lied to me, Marat! You got another woman
pregnant, and all this time you've been telling me you want our marriage to work?
What a load of garbage!"
"If you would just hear me out!"
"No!" Stacey yells at him. "Go to Moscow, but you're going
without me. I can't be with you right now."
"You don't mean
that," Marat protests to her. "I love you, Stacey!"
"Like
hell I don't," Stacey yells back to him. "I need time to think if we
even have a marriage left." She then rushes inside the mansion, as Cole follow
her. Celeste looks back at Marat with tears in her eyes.
"Are you
happy now?" Marat looks over at Houston. "You just ruined four people's
lives. I hope you're able to sleep at night."
"Go to Moscow
Marat," Houston replies to him. "And never come back. I'll take care
of Stacey."
***
"So,
right about now Cole and Stacey should be learning the truth about Celeste's baby,"
Odette says as she paces back and forth in the living room her house and looks
back at Garrett Owen, who is sitting in the arm chair. "Which means, everything
is working out perfectly."
"Lex is drinking his tea,"
Garrett nods back to her. "Stacey will be in a crisis mode because of Houston's
affair with Lydia and Marat fathering Celeste's baby."
"Yes,
but that won't be enough," Odette wags her finger back to him. "I want
all of the children to suffer beyond imagination."
"What else
do you have planned for Stacey and Cole?" Garrett asks her as he stands up
and look at her.
Odette laughs back to him. "Just you wait,"
she purses her lips together. "By the time I'm done with the Rockwell's,
they won't know what hit them."
***
"Do you really think that we could go after the Kelsey Lake mine?"
Kent Blackmore asks Sabine Andrews as they sit at the bar in the country club,
having a drink with one another. Kent had just told Sabine that he doesn't believe
Lydia Rockwell is going to take him back since he dumped her after he found out
about her affair with Houston. He still can't believe that his fiancé slept
with his son, but as Sabine as pointed out, if he didn't forgive Lydia, he was
risking losing her forever. When he went to try to get back together with her,
though, she said she needed more time. Sabine, then, suggested that they use Rockwell
Mining as leverage their positions.
"I know we can," Sabine
replies to him. "You see, when I first came to Kelsey Lake, I was secretly
working for Yuri Kafelinkov."
Kent arches his eyebrow as he takes
another sip of his scotch. "You were? I have no idea."
"No
one knew," Sabine tells him.
"In what capacity were you working
for him?"
"He didn't like the back and forth business dealings
at Rockwell Mining. One day Mac was in charge, then Lydia, then Mac again; he
wanted information on the company that he could use to extract the Kremlin Diamonds
from Rockwell Mining. That's where I came in; he wanted me to obtain that information
for him."
"So you were spying while you were working at Rockwell
and getting engaged to Mac?" Kent chuckles back to her. "That's something
else."
"I tried to fend Yuri off for as long as I could,"
Sabine informs him. "But the night of the party, I couldn't help but tell
him what I knew."
"What do you know, Sabine?" Kent asks
her, curious to know if this plan of theirs could work.
"Before
I tell you, are you sure you want to do this? Once we go in, there's no going
back."
"I'm sure," Kent nods back to her. "You have
been right the entire time. If we don't do something, Mac and Lydia will end up
together."
"Okay," Sabine smiles back to him. "Brace
yourself, because I will tell you everything and what our plan is going to be."

Lex Rockwell slowly walks through
the stables, trying to clear his head. He has been meeting with Grant Shaw in
hopes of finding out something that will help him uncovering some type of clue
as to the whereabouts of his sister, Dixie Ryan. He still believes that if he
finds Dixie, she will be able to give him information that he can use against
Cole. Lex is still out for blood against Cole because of Cole's sexual indiscretion
with Brock Jennings.
"Looking for me again?" Toby Sinclair
comes out from behind one of the horse stalls and looks at Lex. "This seems
to be a habit."
Lex uneasily smiles back to the attractive young
man. "I feel at ease with you," Lex admits to him before he takes a
sip of his tea that Tanner Young has been giving him. "With everything else
going on in my life, I enjoy that."
"Well that's nice,"
Toby moves closer to Lex. "Because, I like when you're around. You know that
I'm into you."
Lex uneasily chuckles back to him. "I have someone
in my life."
"Tanner?" Toby asks him. "I've seen
him around. I think we make a better looking couple."
Lex laughs
back to him. "You're funny."
Toby comes up to Lex and suddenly
kisses him passionately. Their lips part and Lex looks into Toby's eyes. "See,
there is a spark between us."
"There definitely is," Lex
nods back to him. "But, I need to focus on finding Dixie. I don't know that
I should get distracted right now. And, you'd definitely distract me.""
Toby chuckles back to him. "That's fair," he tells him. "Because
you're right, you have to find Dixie. So much is riding on that. Any new leads?"
Lex looks back at him and can't help but want to kiss him again. "No,
but I'll keep you posted when I get one. I should get out of here before we do
something we might regret."
Toby laughs back to him. "I wouldn't
regret anything with you, Lex. I'll be here waiting when you're ready."
***
"Stacey," Marat calls
out as he moves into the living room of the mansion and sees Stacey pouring herself
a brandy. She takes a long drink of it before she turns around to face her husband.
"Please, Stace, just listen to me, okay?"
"Listen to what?"
She asks him back as she puts her hand on her lip. "More lies? I trusted
you, Marat!"
"I know," he moves closer to her. "And,
I know that I screwed up. It was a huge lack of judgement on my part, I get that."
"That might be the understatement of the year!"
"This
doesn't have to change anything though, Stacey," he continues to move closer
to her. "We can still go to Moscow together. We can still make our marriage
work. That's what we were working towards, remember?"
Stacey shakes
her head at him. "I don't think you understand," she glares back at
him. "You got another woman pregnant, Marat. That changes everything. You
have to see that. I do have one question though."
"What?"
"When did you sleep with Celeste? When did this tryst happen?"
"That doesn't matter," Marat turns his back to her. He knows that
he can't possibly tell her that he and Celeste slept together while Stacey was
in the hospital after being shot; it would add more salt to the open wound.
"Like hell it doesn't!" she yells at him. "Tell me, Marat.
Tell me right now!"
"It was when you were in the hospital,"
he whispers back to her as she covers her mouth.
"After I was shot?"
she gasps back to him. "You son of a bitch! I was fighting for my life and
you fucked Celeste? You're disgusting!"
Marat turns to her. "Please,
just come to Moscow. I promise I can make this up to you."
Stacey
slaps Marat hard across the face. "Get out of this house," she spits
at him. "Go to Moscow Marat, our marriage is over!"
"You
don't mean that
"
"GO!"
she yells at him. "Just go!"
Marat puts his hands up and moves
to the door of the living room. "I'll be back Stacey," he tells her
as she takes another sip of her brandy. "I will fight for our marriage, even
if you won't."
***
Vivian
Blackmore moves into the country club and walks up to the bar, ordering a champagne
cocktail in the process. She sits down and waits for her drink and wonders if
Houston has told Stacey the truth about Celeste and Marat's baby yet. She was
hoping to tell Cole herself, but when Houston revealed that Stacey was going to
leave Kelsey Lake with Marat, she knew that she had to give her some the information
to stop Stacey from leaving town.
She takes a sip of her cocktail and
then sighs to herself. "I did the right thing," she says to herself.
"The truth was going to come out sooner rather than later. And, if I'm going
to help Houston get Stacey back, that's even better. I can still focus on Cole
myself."
Before she can reply, she sees Grant Shaw walk up to the
bar. Vivian arches her eyebrow, thinking that she knows him from somewhere, but
she can't quite place him. "How's your afternoon going?" she says looking
over at him before she takes a sip of her champagne cocktail. "Looks like
we had the same idea about a drink."
"That we did," Grant
replies to her as he takes a sip of his whiskey sour. "It's been a long couple
of days."
"I'm Vivian Blackmore," she extends her hand
out to him. "You look familiar, but I'm afraid I can't place you."
"Grant Shaw," he shakes her hand back. "I believe we met briefly
at the Rockwell's ball that ended with the bombs going off."
Vivian
uneasily chuckles back to him. "I still can't believe that crazy woman did
that," she admits to him. "But yes, that makes sense. You're the foreman
of the Kelsey Lake mine?"
"Good memory."
"Once,
you said your name it all came back to me," she purses her lips together.
"I could have sworn, though, that you said you were from New York? How come
you haven't returned to the Big Apple?"
Grant sighs and looks back
to her. "It's a long story," he reveals to her. "But, my sister
is missing. And, she was last seen here, in Kelsey Lake."
"That's
awful," Vivian replies to him. "I'd like to hear more, if that's okay.
I know a lot of people in this town, maybe I could help you find her?"
Grant shoots her a quick smile. "That's very sweet of you, thank you,"
he nods back to her as he begins to tell her the story of Dixie's disappearance.
***
Lex moves into the main office
at Rockwell Mining and moves behind the desk. He touches his lips for a moment
as he thinks about Toby kissing him earlier in the day. He can't help but be attracted
to Toby, and the fact that he is helping him with his quest to get revenge on
Cole makes him even more attractive to Lex. Still, he knows that he has to tread
carefully because Tanner is still in his life. Lex slowly sits down as he remembers
Tanner telling him that he loved him recently, which took Lex by surprise because
he thought that they were going to go slowly.
"The sex with Tanner
is really good," he tells himself. "But, there is something between
Toby and I. I can't explain it but I can feel it."
He shakes his
head as he opens his laptop. "Enough of that," he tells himself. "I
have to figure out where Dixie Ryan is. I have to do this. But, where am I going
to start?"
He looks up when he hears the office door open and Tanner
is walking into the office. "Hey handsome," Tanner smiles to him. "I
was heading to Blackmore and thought I'd stop by and see you. I brought you some
of that tea you love so much."
"Oh thanks," Lex stands
up to greet him. "I was actually craving it."
"Then my
timing was perfect," Tanner licks his lips and then kisses Lex. "We
need to find time to get together. I want you, I miss you."
Lex
chuckles back to him as he runs his hand over Tanner's firm chest. "I'd like
that a lot," he winks back to him. "I miss you, too."
"Cool, later?"
"Yea, definitely."
"Great,
what are you working on? Anything fun?"
Lex shrugs back to him.
"I'm trying to find Dixie Ryan," he reveals to Tanner. "I think
she could be the way to bring down Cole."
Tanner uneasily nods back
to him. "Well, if that's what you want, then you know you have support babe."
"Thank you," Lex looks him in the eyes.
"Okay,
I'll let you get to it. Drink your tea, and get ready for later. I want that ass."
Lex chuckles back to him. "Deal Tanner."
***
"I can't believe this," Mac runs his hand over his face, having
just heard from Celeste what happened earlier in the day with Houston exposing
the fact that she is pregnant with Marat's baby. Mac worries that now both Cole
and Stacey will be devastated by this, not that he can blame them. "How the
hell could you be so stupid, Celeste? After everything you and Cole went through
to find your way back to one another."
"I know," Celeste
lets a tear fall down her cheek. "What you have to realize is that Cole and
I weren't together when I was with Marat. Not that it's an excuse, I know."
"No, because Marat was married to my daughter at the time!"
"I know I screwed up," Celeste admits to him. "And so does
Marat."
"I just don't know how Cole and Stacey will be able
to move past this," Mac admits to her. "You are going to have a child
with Marat, Celeste. That changes everything."
"I know!"
Celeste tells him. "I'm trying here, Mac. I really am."
"I
should go tell Lydia what has happened," Mac replies to her. "She won't
be happy about this."
"God, another reason for her to hate
me!"
Mac doesn't reply, he instead leaves the living room and walks
towards the stairs in the foyer. He makes his way to Lydia's room and quickly
knocks on the door. He opens the door when he hears a faint 'come in'.
Inside the room, Lydia turns and sees Mac and gets a smile on her face. "Darling,
hi," she says to him, wondering if she should tell him that she's had feelings
in her legs and feet. She doesn't want to get ahead of herself, but she realizes
that this must be a very good sign.
"Hi, how are you feeling?"
"Really, really good," Lydia replies to him as Mac sits on the
edge of her bed. "What is it? What's wrong? I Can tell by the look on your
face that something is wrong."
Mac sighs and looks back at her.
"I never could keep anything from you, could I?"
"No,
and your'e not going to start now."
"It's Cole and Stacey,"
he says back to her. "They are going to need us, now more than ever."
"What's happened?"
"Celeste and Marat slept together,"
Mac reveals to her. "And, she's pregnant with his child."
"That
slut!" Lydia shrieks back to him. "When I get out of here, I'm going
to ring her little neck!"
"Just try to stay calm," Mac
replies to her. "We have to think of the children first. Marat and Celeste,
we can deal with them later."
"You're right," Lydia nods
back to him. "We have to help the children. We must."
***
A
short time later, Lydia lays in the large bed in her bedroom of the mansion holding
a novel in her hands. She has been enjoying quiet time since she has been out
of the hospital; she never realized how fast paced her life was before. Her mind,
however, is on the news Mac just shared with her: Celeste is pregnant with Marat's
baby. Cole and Stacey must be devastated, she thinks to herself.
She
suddenly sets the book down when she feels a twinge in her legs. She has been
feeling this more and more often lately; the doctors told her she would be paralyzed,
but she refuses to accept that she will never walk away.
"This
feeling," she whispers to herself. "I wonder if it means that I can
walk."
She
stops and wonders if she should try to walk. On one hand she could try, but she
also doesn't know if she's ready. She almost wonders if she should call Dr. Chen
and advise him of what she is feeling.
"No,"
she whispers to herself. "I will try to see if I can do this. I can call
the doctor afterwards."
She
scoots herself to the side of the bed and swings her legs around until her feet
touch the ground. She slowly stands up and holds her hands on the bed, bracing
herself up. She slowly removes her hands from the bed and stands still for a moment.
"I'm
standing," she gasps to herself as she gets a small smile on her face.
She
slowly tries to take a step, which she does, but she falls back losing her balance.
She falls into the bed and she immediately covers her mouth. "I will walk
again," she tells herself. "Maybe not today, but I will."
***
Lex
types into the laptop, still in the Rockwell Mining offices, and hopes that his
search on Dixie will finally come up with something. He reads some of the search
results until he hears the door to the office open. When he sees Cole standing
there, he quickly closes the laptop because he knows that his brother can't know
about his investigation into Dixie's disappearance.
"I was hoping
no one would be here," Cole admits to Lex as he closes the office door and
walks over to the bar to pour himself a brandy.
Lex finishes drinking
the tea that Tanner brought him and tosses the cup into the garbage. "Some
of us have jobs to do."
"Yea, yea," Cole rolls his eyes
as he takes a drink of his brandy. "I really don't want to fight with you
right now, Lex. I've had a hell of a day."
"Is it Mom? Is everything
okay?"
"Mom is fine," Cole turns to face him. "It's
Celeste."
"What did she do this time?" Lex asks him as
he folds his arms across his chest.
"She slept with Marat,"
Cole reveals to him as Lex's mouth opens in shock. "And, she's pregnant with
his child."
"How is that even possible?" Lex asks him
back. "I thought she couldn't have any more children."
"It's
a miracle?" Cole replies to him, his voice filled with sarcasm.
"How is Stacey? She must be crushed by this news."
Cole looks
back at him. "I'm right in front of you, Lex! You could at least care what
this is doing to me too!"
"Ugh," Lex groans back to him.
"Why does everything have to be about you, Cole? You're so egotistical, it's
disgusting."
"We are all hurting right now," Cole replies
to him. "This is the time for us to come together, not grow further apart."
"I just have to wonder
"
"Wonder what?"
Cole shrugs his shoulders back to him.
"If Brock was still alive,"
Lex looks back at him. "Are you stressed enough that'd you'd ask him to suck
you off again?"
"Shut up," Cole replies to him. "You
need to let that go. It happened once. It was a mistake."
"You
know what's funny about this Cole?" Lex taunts him. "You got with my
boyfriend behind my back. And now, you find out Celeste was with someone else
behind your back. That, brother dear, is karma. You're getting exactly what you
deserve."
"I don't want to listen to his," Cole puts his
glass down and rushes to the door.
"That's right, run away, like
you always do," Lex calls out to his brother as the door slams behind Cole.
Lex runs his hand through his hair. "I have to figure out what happened to
Dixie, now more than ever," he whispers to himself. "This could be Cole's
undoing."

Mac looks over
at Lucinda Rockwell, who is rocking back and forth in a rocking chair in her suite
at Avondale, the medical clinic where she is living now. Since the fire at her
mansion, she has been in a semi cationic state because her brain without oxygen
for too long. Mac can't believe that his mother hasn't gotten better yet; he had
hoped, despite what the doctors said, she would make a full recovery.
"Mother," he grabs her hand and looks into her face, even though she
doesn't look back at Mac. "Everything is a mess right now. And, my God, I
wish you were here to help me solve these family problems."
Lucinda
continues to look forward as she rocks in her chair. "Lex and Cole are fighting
again; Celeste has betrayed Cole; Marat has betrayed Stacey
it just seems
like the children are in chaos right now. You, you always had a way to bring us
together, Mom. I wish you could do that now."
Mac looks at his mother
and she doesn't say anything back to him. "Okay, I'm going to get going.
I have to try to bring this family together. I love you, I'll see you soon,"
he whispers to her before he kisses her forehead. He then walks out of the room,
closing the door behind himself.
Lucinda rocks in her chair. "Mmmmaaaaaaacccccccc,"
she manages to say loudly. "Maaaccccc!"
***
"Tanner, I hope you're calling me with good news," Odette says
into her burner phone that she made Garrett pick up for her. "Please, tell
me what you know."
Garrett pours two glasses of red wine while Odette
listens to Tanner's story on the phone. He turns and passes her a glass. "Wonderful,
I'll be in touch with your next steps very shortly. Good work, Tanner."
She
hangs up the phone and looks over at Garrett. "Thank you," she says
before she toasts him.
"What are we drinking too?" Garrett
asks her before he takes a sip of his wine.
"Tanner informed me
that Stacey and Cole know the truth about the baby and that all hell broke loose,"
Odette smiles to him. "This means that my plan is slowly working. Now, all
I have to do is make sure Stacey and Cole suffer even more pain."
"How are you going to do that?"
Odette takes another sip of
her wine before she locks eyes with him. "Wait and see Garrett," she
purses her lips together. "Wait and see."
***
Tanner hangs up his phone while he stands in the country club entrance way.
He just gave Odette the update; he is thrilled that she is so pleased with the
progress of their plan. He just hopes that it continues to go as smoothly as it
has been.
He looks down at his phone when he feels it vibrate in his
hands. He reads the incoming message from Lex. "Sorry babe, have a million
things to do. Rain cheque on sex?"
"Ugh," Tanner groans
as he puts his phone in his pocket. He walks up to the bar and is about to order
a drink, when he looks over and sees Grant Shaw sitting at the bar. "Hey,
can I buy you a drink?"
Grant looks over at Tanner and nods back
to him. "I'd like that, a lot."
***
"Marat, wait," Celeste rushes through the airport up to the gate
where Marat was about to walk through to catch his private jet back to Moscow.
Marat turns and sees Celeste running up to him. "Celeste, what on earth
are you doing here?"
Celeste shakes her head back to him. "I
just
I had to see you one more time," she admits to him before she pulls
him into a hug. "I'm pregnant, Marat, with your baby."
"I
know," he looks at her as they exit their embrace.
"I just
need to know that you will be back," she replies to him. "I need to
know that I won't be raising this baby on my own. After today, I don't think that
Cole will ever forgive me."
"Of course," Marat looks back
at her. "I meant it when I told you that I want to be a part of this baby's
life. Our baby. I'll be back, but I really do have to go now."
"Okay,"
Celeste licks her lips. "Have a good trip. I'll be here, and so will your
baby."
Marat smiles back to her before he turns and leaves for his
plane. Celeste watches him through the window, wondering if Marat is the only
ally she has left in the world.
***
"Son, I'm glad you're home," Mac tells Cole, who walks into the
living room of the mansion. "We need to talk, but first, I want you to come
see your mother with me. We would like to talk to you."
Cole sighs
back to his Dad, knowing that his parents are going to ensure that he is doing
okay following Celeste's latest betrayal. The last thing he wants to do is have
his parents talk to him about this; he is embarrassed enough by what has happened,
but he also knows that he can't say no because his parents won't take no for an
answer.
"Okay," Cole tells him. "Let's go see Mom."
Mac lets Cole lead the way as they head up the stairs to Lydia's room. Cole
opens the door and sees his mother. "Oh Cole, darling," Lydia opens
her arms to him as Cole walks up to her and hugs her. "I'm so sorry. Mac
told me everything."
"I assumed he had," Cole exits his
embrace with Lydia. "You guys need to know that I'm fine. I really am."
"You can't fool me," Lydia replies to him. "I know how much
this must hurt you. That woman has caused you so much pain."
"That's
why we asked you here," Mac chimes in, causing Cole to turn back and look
at him. "We need you to really stay strong right now, Cole."
"What we mean," Lydia continues as she grabs Cole's hand. "You
have to stay sober in this time, Cole. We know how easy it would be for you to
fall off the wagon right now. But just know that we are here for you. Whatever
you need."
Cole puts his head down. "Thanks guys," he
says looking up at them with a half-smile on his face. "And, don't worry.
I have no plans of letting Celeste Baldwin ruin my sobriety. I've worked too hard
to get where I am."
"That's what we wanted to hear," Mac
smiles back to his son.
***
Tanner
lets out a final, loud, aggressive grunt as he explodes into orgasm. He smiles
as he peels Grant's legs off his shoulders and then leans down and kisses him
passionately.
"I needed that so bad," he tells Grant as their
lips part.
"I could tell," Grant smiles back to him. "You're
so hot when you're pent up."
Tanner chuckles as he lays next to
Grant. "I'm glad I ran into you when I did. This is going exactly as we planned
it would."
"I know," Grant tells him. "No one suspects
anything, right?"
"Lex has no idea," Tanner laughs back
to him. "And he never will. Everything is going according to Odette's plan.
We just have to be careful to make sure no one knows that we are lovers."
"We will be together once this is all done, right?" Grant leans
up in the bed. "We will get the money from Odette and start our life together?"
Tanner nods his head back to him. "Of course babe," he tells him.
"That's exactly what will happen."
***
"I'm glad we had that talk with your mother," Mac tells Cole as
they move back into the living room of the Rockwell mansion and Mac pours two
brandies. He passes one to Cole, who takes a sip of his drink. "But, you
and I, we have more unfinished business."
Cole arches his eyebrow
back to his father. "What's going on?"
"Grant Shaw,"
Mac replies to Cole, as Cole shoots his father a look of intent. "He's still
in town. Do you have any idea why?"
Cole shrugs his shoulders. "I
mean, when I saw him at the party, he just revealed that he was Dixie's brother.
Maybe he's looking for her?"
In the foyer, Lex opens the door to
the house and steps inside. He moves towards the living room, but stops outside
the entry when he hears Mac and Cole talking.
"He's still in town,"
Mac tells Cole. "As soon as you told me that he was in town, I had someone
keep an eye on him. He's staying at the country club."
"Do
you think he's telling the truth? Do you think he is Dixie's brother?"
"I don't know why he would lie about that," Mac looks back at Cole.
"But, the bottom line is that no one knows what happened to Dixie. And, no
one knows that I helped you cover up her death. And, Cole, no one else can ever
know the truth. Understood?"
Cole uneasily nods back to him. "Yea,
Dad, of course. No one will ever know."
Outside the living room,
Lex gets a devilish grin on his face. "Got you brother."
