Sabine
Andrew gulps heavily as she looks back at Nathan Lockhart as they stand across
from one another in the living room of the Rockwell mansion. She just returned
home and when she saw Nathan, he advised that they had to talk to get a few things
straight. She has no idea what that could mean, but she hopes that she hasn't
done anything to upset him.
"We have to talk?" she asks him
as she moves further into the living room and puts her Chanel purse down on the
sofa. "What is on your mind?"
"Honestly, I was hoping we
could talk about us," Nathan replies to her. "I feel like we've barely
had any time together since I've been back in Kelsey Lake."
Sabine
uneasily nods back to him. "It's funny you say that, because I was just telling
Quinn that I feel like time has been racing lately. What don't we plan to have
a nice dinner together and we can catch up and see where we are?"
"I'd
like that very much Sabine," Nathan informs her. "But I hope you know
that I still love you very much. That has never changed."
Sabine
smiles back to him as she moves up to him and kisses him on his lips. "I'm
happy to hear that, because that has never changed for me either, Nathan. I still
love you very much."
They embrace each other which allows Nathan's
smile to fade away into a look of disgust at the thought of Sabine in bed with
his brother, Mac Rockwell, continue to haunt him.

Lexington
Rockwell slowly moves towards the front door of Casper Ross' private firm agency.
He takes a deep breath as he peers inside and can see the man that he was falling
for inside behind his desk. Lex knows that he has been troubled since he learned
that Casper had a torrid affair with his brother, Cole Rockwell. The feeling that
he could share a lover with Cole has really turned him off, but he can't deny
that he is still attracted to Casper.
The other thing that Lex knows is
adding a complication to the situation is that he slept with Jaxson Williams after
he learned about Casper's affair with Cole. Lex was intrigued by the man that
looked his dead husband, Jarek Williams, and once they got to talking, they ended
up in bed together.
Of course, this has left Lex feeling like he is torn,
but he isn't sure if he is actually interested in Jaxson or if he is intrigued
because he Jarek's twin brother.
"Hey, I hope I am not interrupting
anything," Lex announces as he finally opens the door to Casper's office
and moves inside.
Casper looks over and gets a sly grin on his face, as
he knows that Lex hasn't been very happy with him since the truth about his affair
with Cole came out. "I always have time for you," Casper says as he
stands up from behind his desk. "I'm happy to see you, actually. I know you've
been
uh
unhappy with me since my fling with Cole was revealed."
Lex uneasily chuckles back to him. "That's putting it mildly," he
admits to him. "It's just a lot to wrap my head around, that's all."
"I completely understand," Casper tells him. "But I do want
you to know that there is nothing else going on between Cole and I, and there
hasn't been for a very long time."
"I believe you," Lex
nods to him. "And, Cole said that the same thing. I guess I came to you today
because I am telling you that I am just taking time to understand what happened
and trying to wrap my head around it. I hope you can appreciate that."
"Of course, I do," Casper tells him. "I'll be here waiting
for you, no matter what you decide. But I hope you decide that we are worth a
shot, a real shot. Because I think that we could have something special Lex."

"I'm back," Madison Stewart looks at Cole as they face
one another in the hallway of the hospital.
Cole had stopped by the hospital
to drop off some takeout food from the country club since he knew that the Blackmore's
had been at the hospital for a while as they wait for more updates on Vivian's
Blackmore's condition following her car accident. To his surprise, he saw his
former fiancé coming out of her mother's hospital room; he didn't expect
to see Madi at the hospital, but as he looks at her, with her long flowing blonde
hair, he realizes that it makes sense that she would be back to see her mother.
"You look surprised to see me, Cole. Are you okay?" Madi asks with
a bit of a chuckle.
"I
I guess I wasn't expecting to see you
here," Cole admits to her as he puts the food down and hugs her. "But
it makes sense that you'd be here. What's the latest with your Mom? How are holding
up?"
Madi signs back to him. "I am worried about her,"
she admits to him. "The doctors keep saying that the swelling in her brain
isn't going down, and I am just worried that means she will stay in her coma for
a very long time."
"I am so sorry that this is happening,"
Cole looks back at her. "You know that I have a long and complicated history
with Vivian, but I would never want this to happen to her."
"I
know," Madi nods back to him. "I appreciate you being here and coming
with food supplies. The pickings are pretty slim in the cafeteria."
"It
is the least I can do," Cole looks back at her. "And for the record,
Madi, it is nice to see you, even it is not under the most ideal circumstances."

Meanwhile, in another waiting room, Houston Blackmore sits next
to Celeste Baldwin, who arrived to comfort her friend. Celeste wanted to make
sure that was doing okay since his mother is fighting for her life.
"When
I got here," Celeste looks over at Houston. "It seemed like you were
upset about more than just your mother. Is everything else okay?"
Houston
sighs back to his recent lover as he recalls seeing his father, Kent Blackmore,
in the arms of his ex-fiancé, Stacey Rockwell. He knows that they are forging
forward with their relationship, but it still hurts him because of his long history
with Stacey.
"You know me so well," he says with a half chuckle.
"Right before you arrived, I saw Kent and Stacey holding one another."
"It still bothers you, doesn't it? That your father and the mother of
your child are sleeping together?"
"How could it not?"
Houston asks her quickly. "I think Stacey is the love of my life and she
is with my father, of all people."
Celeste
grabs his hand and squeezes it. "I am sorry that you are going through this,"
she tells him. "I hope you know that I am here for you, if you need anything."
Houston locks eyes with her as he recalls how they fell into bed with one
another recently. "I really appreciate that, Celeste. You're a good friend."
***
Later that evening, Mac Rockwell opens the door to the study in
the Rockwell mansion and moves inside as Helena Grant follows him. The two just
had another romantic date, and Mac invited her back to the mansion for a nightcap,
however, he wanted more privacy, so he came to study instead of staying in the
living room. He moves closer to the bar, which is next to the fireplace, which
has large flames raging inside of it.
"Would you like a brandy for
your nightcap?" Mac asks the police detective.
Helena purses her
lips together. "That sounds lovely, thank you."
"You're
most welcome," Mac replies to her as he pours two drinks. "I should
be thanking you; I had another wonderful evening with you, Helena."
Helena
accepts her brandy before she looks back into Mac's eyes. "I have had a great
time too Mac. I am almost scared because this feels like it might be too good
to be true."
Mac chuckles back to her. "What? You having a good
time with a man that is very attracted to you?"
"I mean, all
of this," she admits to him before she takes a sip of her brandy. "When
I first met you, the last thing I ever expected was to be falling for you."
Mac arches his eyebrow. "Are you? Falling for me, I mean?"
"I
think I am. Is that a bad thing?"
Mac chuckles as he moves closer
to her and kisses her on the lips. "It's a very good thing," he looks
into her eyes as their lips part. "Because I am falling for you as well."
Helena smiles back to him before she leans in and kisses him passionately
again. "I have an idea," he whispers to her. "Why don't we take
our nightcaps to my room and I can show you how attracted I really am to you."
"Why, Mr. Rockwell," Helena teases him. "Are you suggesting
that I spent the night with you?"
"All night with me,"
he replies to her. "Only, you might not get a lot of sleep."
"I'm
suddenly getting my second wind anyways," she purrs to him. "Lead the
way, Mac."
***
The next morning, Quinn Cunningham stands
in the nursery of the Rockwell Mansion as she looks at her son, Jumper, who is
sleeping in his crib. She still can't believe that she is a mother; she just hopes
that she can raise Jumper to be a great human being.
"I am so sorry
that you don't have a father figure right now," Quinn whispers to her son
as she thinks about how Deacon Cooper left her after it was revealed that Marat
Kafelinkov is really Jumper's father, not him. She still wants to ensure that
she can get back together with Deacon, because she still loves him. "But
I will make it right baby Jumper. You will have Deacon in your life, and you can
also get to know Marat."
"The most important thing is your happiness
little Jumper," she continues to look at her son. "And I will make sure
that you are happy, no matter what I have to do because I am your mother and that
is my job."
She
moves over to her purse when she hears her cell phone start to ring. "Yes,
hello," she says as she answers her call. "Already? Ugh, thank you."
She
hangs up the phone and feels her heart fall into her chest. "The annulment
went through. Deacon and I, we are no longer married," she says to herself
as she bites her lower lip.
***
At the country club, Marat sits
at a table by himself with some eggs benedict in front of him. While he takes
a sip of his coffee, he looks at his food and wonders why he ordered so much as
he doesn't have much of an appetite.
His mind is racing about the fact
that for months Quinn lied to him about the paternity of Jumper; she even had
a paternity test altered to prove that Deacon, not he, was the father of her son.
But the truth came out thanks to him and Dyhannah's plan; now, he has no idea
what he is going to do as he has another child.
"I have other children
with Celeste," he whispers to himself. "But Celeste has always put the
children first, despite having some drama. But Quinn, she lied to me over and
over. She wanted to ensure I never knew that Jumper was my boy."
He
takes another sip of his coffee. "I have to do something to ensure that Quinn
knows that she can't erase me from my son's life. I must make sure she doesn't
keep manipulating me. But what can I do? There must be something
because
I won't let her keep me away from my son."
***
Dyhannah Cooper
quickly walks through the hallways of the hospital as she is trying to Chase Cooper;
she knows that he has been at the hospital since he got the call about Vivian's
accident, so she is there to see how he is holding up. Deep down, she can't help
but recall how she admitted to their son, Deacon, that she was feeling insecure
in the sense that she hopes that Vivian's accident wouldn't cause Chase's feelings
to come back to light.
She freezes when she sees Chase leaving the hospital
chapel. She can tell that he looks exhausted and hungry; she hopes that her presence
will be comforting to him.
"Morning," she says as she moves
up to him. "You look tired Chase, you should come home to get some rest."
"Good morning Dyhannah," Chase replies to her. "It's been a
long night here; I'm afraid I didn't get much sleep."
"That's
why I think you should come home to get some rest," Dyhannah informs him.
"I'm sure you can take a couple hours break from being here."
"I
don't think that's a good idea," he admits back to her. "It's not looking
good for Vivian; the swelling in her brain hasn't gone down and the doctor doesn't
think that's much else he can do for her."
Dyhannah sighs back to
him as she can see how the news is upsetting him. "I am sorry Chase, darling.
I wish there was something I, or anyone, could do to make this better."
"I wish that too."
"I am here for you, Chase,"
Dyhannah grabs his hand. "But I need you to remember that if you don't take
care of yourself, you won't be good for anyone else that needs you, and that includes
Vivian."
"I'll keep that in mind," he winks back to her.
"Thanks for being here, you're exactly the person I needed to see this morning."
"I always here for you Chase. You never need to worry about that."
***
Stacey watches as Kent opens the door to Vivian's hospital room
as he moves inside. Once the door is closed, Stacey moves closer to the door and
sees Kent sitting next to his ex-wife.
"Hey Vivian, it's me, Kent,"
he whispers as he grabs her hand and kisses it. "The doctors have changed
your medication, that has to be a good thing, right? We are still hoping that
the new medication will help with the swelling around your brain; if that happens,
there is a good chance that you will come back to us."
Kent pauses
as he looks at Vivian, who doesn't move in the bed. He sighs a little before he
kisses her hand again. "Come on, Viv, you know you want to open your eyes
and beg me to take you out of this place. Don't give up, not yet, okay?"
At the doorway, Stacey turns away from watching Kent talk to Vivian and she
leans up against the wall as she bites her lower lip. She can't help but feel
insecure about seeing Kent interact with Vivian.
"I'll be back soon,"
Kent tells Vivian as he stands up from her bedside. "And in the meantime,
please get better and open your eyes. That's all we want, Vivian."
He
starts to walk towards the door, not seeing Vivian's fingers twitch as he leaves
the room.

Lucinda Rockwell slowly moves up the stairs in the
Rockwell mansion. She's had a heck of a day, so she is looking forward to drawing
a hot bath, pouring a glass of wine, relaxing and then crawling into bed.
As she moves towards her bedroom, she can't help but get a smile on her face
as she thinks about how Levy, Nathan, she quickly corrects herself in her head,
and Mac are getting along. After everything they've been through, she finally
feels like she has peace within her family.
She reaches her bedroom and
opens the door but gasps when she sees inside her room: there is a small table
with candles on it, soft music playing and a bottle of champagne chilling next
to the table.
"What on earth?" she asks as she moves into room
and closes the door behind herself. "What is all this?"
"A
surprise for you," Dane Ashby's voice says as he comes out of the washroom.
"I thought you and I were long over do for a romantic dinner for just us.
What do you say? Come and eat with me?"
Lucinda shakes her head as
she chuckles and moves up to him. "How can I say no to this beautiful arrangement?"
"That's just the answer I was hoping for," he smirks back to her
as he pulls out her chair for her as Lucinda takes a seat. "Champagne?"
"I'd love a glass," Lucinda replies to him quickly. "You've
really gone above and beyond Dane. I
I don't know what to say."
"It's not every day that you are left speechless, so I think I've done
my job well."
"You certainly have," she looks back at him
as they lock eyes as he sits across from her. "Thank you for all of this,
Dane. Really, I mean that."
"You're welcome, Lucinda,"
Dane smiles back to her. "I hope you know how much this has meant to me;
since I've been back in town, getting to reconnect with you and getting to know
our son, these have been the best few months of my life. Some drama, but mostly
incredible."
"I couldn't agree more," Lucinda nods back
to him. "I guess I didn't realize how much I had missed having a partner
until you came back. You know, I am married to Mortimer, but with him being sick
it
can be lonely."
"You never have to be lonely again," Dane
whispers back to her. "Not as long as I am here. And I am not planning on
going anywhere."
"I like the sound of that."
"Do
you?" he asks her. "Look inside your glass, Lucinda."
Lucinda
arches her eyebrow as she holds up her champagne glass and gasps at the sight
of a ring at the bottom of the glass. "Dane? What
what is this?"
she asks as she pulls the large diamond ring out of the glass.
"Marry
me, Lucinda," he says as he bends down on one knee, as Lucinda gasps back
in shock. "Be my partner for the rest of our lives?"

The following morning, the Rockwell's are sitting around the large breakfast
table while enjoying the buffet of food that their chef's have prepared for them.
"I can't stay too long," Stacey says as she takes a bite of her
waffle. "I want to go back to the hospital to see how Vivian is doing."
"Have there been any updates on her?" Lydia asks her daughter in
concern.
"Not that I know of," Stacey admits back to her. "I
just hating seeing Kent, and Houston, this worried about her."
"Madi
is also worried," Cole chimes in. "I ran into her yesterday."
"You saw your former fiancé?" Lucinda asks her grandson.
"Does that mean that you two might reunite and you can finally put to rest
your blotched romance with Celeste Baldwin?"
"I am not discussing
my romantic life at the breakfast table!" Cole huffs to everyone.
"That
would be a first," Lex quips over to his brother as they lock eyes for a
moment.
Before anyone can say anything else, Mac looks over at his mother
and slowly opens his mouth in shock at the sight of her. "Mother?" he
asks her quickly. "Do you have something you'd like to share? What is going
on?"
Lucinda puts her fork down and quickly realizes that the large
diamond ring that Dane gave her is sparkling under the lights in the dining room.
"My goodness," she tries to hide her hand. "I
I guess
the cat is out of the bag, unintentionally."
"What cat?"
Lydia looks over at Lucinda before she looks at Mac.
"Dane proposed
to me last night, and I happened to say yes," Lucinda explains as Cole, Stacey
and Lex rush over to congratulate her with hugs.
Lydia and Mac look at
one another uneasily before they look back at Lucinda.
"Congratulations
Mother," Mac finally says, as Lydia rolls her eyes. She can't place it, but
she feels like this might be the biggest mistake of Lucinda's life.

Nathan slowly kneels down at a tombstone that is in the cemetery in Kelsey
Lake. As he sets the bouquet of red roses down at the base of the tombstone, he
looks at the engraved writing in the Italian white marble and feels a sense of
sadness sweep over him.
"Slate Orville Lockhart", he whispers
to himself as he continues to look at his son's grave. "You were taken too
soon from me my beautiful boy. I don't want you to ever think that you're not
on my mind, because I think about you each and every day, Slate. Not a day goes
by without me thinking of you."
He sighs as he tries to collect himself.
"And, as you know, I am now in the middle of this damn affair between Sabine
and Mac; I had to pretend that everything was nice between me and my fiancé,
even though I know that she was all of Mac's bed. It's disgusting. But don't worry
son, I will get them back. You're my witness in that; I will get them back. I
know I will."
Nathan slowly stands up and looks back at the tombstone
one final time before he turns to leave, but he is surprised to see Celeste standing
behind him.
"Celeste," he says as he moves up to her. "What
.what
are you doing here?"
"I called the mansion," Celeste looks
back at him. "And the butler told me you were here. I wanted to see you;
how are you? You
you look good, Nathan."
"Thank you, so
do you," Nathan looks back at his former lover. "I was just visiting
Slate. I still miss him."
"I can only imagine. I won't keep
you, I just wanted you to know that I still cherish our times together, and now
that you're back, I hope we can be friends."
"I'd like nothing
more," Nathan smiles back to her.
***
"Have there been
any updates on your Mom today?" Deacon asks his half-sister as they walk
through the hallway of the hospital. He hasn't had the chance to catch up with
Madi since she returned to town, so he cleared his schedule to ensure he had the
time to talk with her because he can only imagine that she is struggling while
Vivian is in the hospital.
"The doctors are still waiting to see
if the new medication they placed her on will help reduce the swelling in her
brain," Madi explains to him. "We haven't heard if it has worked yet
or, but the waiting is killing me."
"I am sorry that your return
to Kelsey Lake is under these circumstances Madi," Deacon replies to his
half-sister. "This doesn't seem fair to you or your family."
"I
just want my Mom to come back to us, you know?" Madi says as tears fill her
eyes. "We didn't always see eye to eye, and I want a chance to tell her that
I love her. God, I don't know what I will do if she doesn't pull through this."
Deacon pulls her into a hug as tears start to stroll down her face. "Don't
think that way, Madi. Vivian is a strong woman, she will survive this."
***
"You're back today?" Houston smiles as Celeste moves
into the waiting room where he spent the night. "This is a surprise."
"Not only am I back," Celeste holds up a duffle bag. "But I
come with clean clothes and a toiletry bag."
"Oh my goodness,
you're a life saver," Houston chuckles back to her. "How'd you get into
my house?"
"I've been to Vivian's house many times," Celeste
reminds him. "I just told Marcella that I wanted to get some things for you,
and she let me in."
"I can't thank you enough for this, Celeste,"
Houston looks back into her eyes. "I really appreciate that."
"It's
my pleasure," Celeste tells him. "I am just glad to be helpful."
At the entry way to the waiting room, Cole stands there, having brought some
coffee for the group at the hospital, and feels his blood boil at the interaction
between Celeste and Houston. Immediately, his mind goes back to seeing them in
bed together and he sighs heavily, not even realizing that the fact that he is
upset might be an indication that he still has feelings for Celeste.
***
A short time later, Cole steps off the elevators at Rockwell Mining and makes
a beeline towards the main office. After seeing the close moment between Celeste
and Houston at the hospital, he decided to come to the office to pour himself
into work as it will be a good distraction.
He opens the door to the office
lets out a loud grunt when he sees Lex sitting behind the desk, typing into his
laptop. The last thing he wanted to do was run into his brother, who after the
comments at breakfast, clearly still has an issue with his affair Casper.
"I take it by that man noise you just made that you're not happy I'm
working in here?" Lex sighs as he looks up from his screen. "We still
have to work together, Cole."
Cole, still not being in a pleasant
mood from his trip to the hospital, throws his bag down on the sofa. "You
know what, Lexington? I'm so fucking tired of you being this higher power than
everyone else. So, I fucked Casper, who cares? Sexuality is fluid these days.
You know what? Casper loved it. He wanted it so badly. And so did I. But that
passed, and I moved on, and so did he. And now, now it's time for you grow a pair
and also move on. If you two have something that's real, then go for it. Casper
and I, we were never real, we were sex. Nothing more. I just want you to get over
this higher than thou attitude and move the fuck on!"
"Jesus,"
Lex stands up and moves quickly over to the bar and starts to pour a brandy. "You
go from 0 to 100 in like, nothing, Cole. What the hell is wrong with you?"
"Nothing! That's exactly my point!" Cole huffs back to him. "I
just don't need you making anymore snide remarks at family breakfast or dinner!
That's all, move on, or don't, I don't care anymore. Just leave me out of your
drama!"
***
"I wonder when we will hear from the doctor
again?" Madi asks as she stands next to Houston and Kent in the hospital.
She realizes that the doctor does have other patients, but she wishes that they
could get an update on Vivian's status, as they are all eager to see if the new
medication is helping with the swelling in her brain.
"I am hoping
soon," Houston replies to her as Kent comes up behind his son and puts his
hand on his shoulder. "The waiting is killing me."
"Do
you want me to go see if I can find the doctor?" Kent asks the two of them.
Before they can respond, they hear a commotion coming from the hallway of
the hospital. They turn and see two doctors and three nurses rushing into Vivian's
room. Madi and Houston look at one another in a panic before they rush towards
their mother's room.
"What do you think is happening?" Madi
asks Houston as they try to look inside the small window into their mother's room.
"Do you think
?"
"No, she's not dying," Houston
bites his lip as he hopes he's not wrong. "She can't be dying
we can't
lose our mother!"

"I appreciate you bringing me
up a plate of breakfast to your bedroom," Helena smiles to Mac as they stand
in the living room of the Rockwell mansion.
Mac turns back to his lover
as he finishes placing some files in his briefcase. "Of course," he
winks back to her. "I didn't think that having you join the family at breakfast
would be enjoyable just yet. I am not sure they are ready to know that we are
lovers."
At the doorway, Nathan freezes when he sees the police detective
and his brother engaged in conversation. He listens carefully to what they are
saying, hoping that he will get an idea on how he can get revenge on Mac and Sabine
for their affair.
"I agree with you on that," Helena nods back
to him. "We took a big step last night, and I enjoyed it, but I think it's
best that we take it slowly with the news to your family."
"Then
we will be secret lovers for the time being," Mac chuckles back to her. "Because
there's no way that last night can just be a onetime event."
"I
love the sound of that," Helena purrs back to him.
At the doorway,
Nathan arches his eyebrow hearing that Mac and Helena became lovers the previous
night. Suddenly, he gets an idea about how he can get revenge on Mac and Sabine.
"Now it's time to execute this plan," he whispers to himself, before
he rushes away from the living room, having not been seen by Mac or Helena.
***
A short time later, Lydia opens the door to the main office at
Rockwell Mining and moves inside after she sees Mac sitting behind his CEO desk.
"I'm glad you're here," Lydia announces to her former husband as
she moves closer to his desk. "I think we need to talk about what happened
at breakfast today."
Mac looks back at Lydia as he stands up from
behind his desk. "I am assuming that this has to do with my mother's announcement
that she is engaged to Dane?"
"It has everything to do with
that," Lydia sighs back to him as she moves to the bar to pour herself a
brandy. "I am concerned, Mac."
"Dane has always been a
very supportive man," Mac tells her. "All he has wanted was to be a
part of my life since he is my biological father."
"I understand
that," Lydia tells him as she takes a sip of her brandy. "I just feel
like we know nothing about him. The last thing I want is for Lucinda to get married
to a man that we don't know, that's all."
"I suppose that is
fair," Mac nods back to her. "For the record, this wedding won't be
happening any time soon."
"Why do you say that?"
"Well,
for starters," Mac looks back at her ex-wife. "My mother is still married
to Mortimer. If she tries to divorce him, she will lose the power of attorney
that she has over him, which will create a lot of headache with the medical center
that he is in. There's a lot to think about before she could even try to marry
Dane."
"That's probably a good thing," Lydia locks eyes
with him. "Because that gives us time to ensure that Dane is the stand-up
guy that he wants us to believe he is."
***
"It's not
what I wanted to have happen this morning, but the family saw this diamond ring
you gave me and so, they know we are engaged," Lucinda tells Dane as they
sit next to one another on the sofa in the study of the Rockwell mansion. "For
the most part, they seemed happy and excited for us."
"For the
most part?" Dane asks her with a chuckle. "There were people who weren't
happy for you, for us?"
Lucinda uneasily sighs back to him as she
recalls the events earlier in the day. "Mac and Lydia both seemed uneasy
about it, at least at first. Mac congratulated me, but Lydia never did."
"Lydia isn't a real Rockwell," Dane reminds her. "She's here
because she's the mother of Mac's children."
"Yes, yes,"
Lucinda waves her hand in the air. "Lydia and I have had our share of butting
heads in the past, but I do consider her member of this family. Over the last
few years, we have grown
closer."
"What are you saying?
You want her approval?" Dane asks her.
Lucinda shrugs back to him.
"It would be nice if everyone was on board with this marriage, even though
it will not be easy."
"Why do you say that?"
"Because,
I am still married to Mortimer, Dane," she looks back at him. "I'd have
to divorce him before we could get married."
"Right, I suppose
that slipped my mind," Dane admits to her. "I meant what I said when
I proposed to you, Lucinda; I want to be your life partner. I want you to be my
wife, but I can understand how this process might take longer than we expected."
"I am so happy Dane," Lucinda looks back into his eyes. "This
might just have to be a long engagement, that's all."
"I'm fine
with that," Dane smiles back to her. "But I do want you to be my wife.
I don't know that I can settle for anything less."

Quinn
listens to the baby monitor as she stands in the living room of the Rockwell mansion.
She smiles as she can hear a soft snoring sound coming from Jumper, so she sets
the monitor down on the coffee table.
She moves over to bar and pours
herself a glass of white wine, which she immediately takes a sip of. Now that
Jumper is fast asleep, she can focus on how she can get Deacon back into her life.
She hates that the annulment went through but she won't let that stop her.
"There must be something that I can do to make him realize that I love
him and that we belong together," she tells herself before she has another
sip of her wine. "But what can I do? How can I make him realize that we belong
together?"
She turns around when she hears someone move into the
living room.
"Quinn Cunningham?" the young man asks as he moves
into the living room.
"Yes, how did you get in here?" she asks
him.
"The butler let me in," he replies to her as he moves up
to her and passes an envelope. "You've been served."
Quinn looks
back at him in shock as she accepts the envelope. She sets her wine glass down
and quickly opens the package, gasping as she reads the documents inside.
"Oh my God," she says as she covers her mouth in shock. "Marat
is suing me for full custody of Jumper! He wants to take my son away from me!"
