There is a sense of disbelief in the study of the Rockwell mansion as MacKenzie
and Lucinda Rockwell stand facing each other while Dane Ashby pours them each
a brandy at the bar. They were just in Nathan Rockwell's bedroom to confront him
over the fact that he was whispering that he killed Mortimer Rockwell, when Lydia
Rockwell announced that Nathan was going to have himself committed to a hospital
as he is now hearing voices that are telling him that he killed his father.
"I am not sure what to make of this," Lucinda admits to her son
and her fiancé, as Dane passes her brandy. "Levi wants to be committed
to a hospital? I
I am stunned."
"I think we all are,"
Mac takes a sip of his drink. "I am not sure if this is admission of guilt
or what, but something is going on."
"I think I can answer some
your questions," Lydia announces as she moves into the study.
"Lydia,
please tell us," Dane looks back at her in concern. "What is going on
with Nathan? Why is he wanting to be hospitalized?"
"It's a
long story," Lydia admits to them. "After Mortimer first passed away,
I went to the hospital and saw Nathan. I, I asked him point blank if he killed
his father."
"And? What did he say?" Mac asks her.
"He said he didn't," Lydia reveals to them, as Mac uneasily looks
back over at Lucinda. "But he has said that he hasn't been able to sleep
since Mortimer's death because he is hearing voices?"
"Voices?
What kind of voices?" Lucinda asks her in confusion.
"I
I
don't know," Lydia admits back to her. "I haven't heard these voices,
so they must be in Nathan's head."
"Do we know what these voices
are telling him?" Dane asks her next.
"According to Nathan,
they are telling him that he did kill Mortimer and that he is a murderer,"
Lydia informs the group. "That's why Dane heard him say that he killed Mortimer,
because he has heard it so often from these voices that he is starting to believe
that it's true."
"How did this happen so quickly?" Lucinda
shakes her head in confusion. "He was seemingly fine in the days leading
up to Mortimer's death; how did his health deteriorate so quickly?"
"We
have no idea," Lydia sighs back to him. "But that's why I convinced
him to check himself into a hospital. The sooner he gets help, the better off
we will all be."
"And by him going to the hospital, maybe we
can finally learn the truth? Maybe we can find out if Nathan really did kill Mortimer,"
Mac says as he locks eyes with Lucinda.
***
A short time later,
Lucinda opens the door to Nathan's bedroom at the Rockwell mansion and moves inside.
She walks up to the bed, where Nathan is resting, and sits on the edge. She looks
at her son, who is finally getting some rest and wonders how he is really doing.
She can't believe that he is hearing these voices and that now they have no idea
if he killed Mortimer or not.
Nathan stirs and slowly opens his eyes,
looking at his mother. "Mother, hi," Nathan says with a small yawn.
"Levi," Lucinda replies to him. "How are you feeling?"
"Tired," he admits to her. "I suppose all these sleepless nights
are catching up to me."
Lucinda leans closer to him and grabs his
hand. "You're my son and I love you," she whispers back to him. "You
have to know that, Levi."
"I do mother."
"Good,"
she nods back to him. "But I need you to be honest with me, okay? Can you
do that?"
Nathan nods back to her.
"Did you kill Mortimer?
Did you kill your father?" she asks him with intent.
Nathan feels
his eyes swell with water. He looks away from her, but Lucinda uses her hand to
redirect his face back to hers and their eyes lock. "I
" he says
as a tear falls down his cheek. "I honestly don't know anymore. These
.voices
.they
keep telling me that I am a murderer. Oh God, am I? Did I kill my own father?"
Lucinda pulls him into a hug as she takes a big gulp. "Don't you worry
about anything," she whispers to him. "The doctors, they will help you.
They will help us figure out the truth."

Dyhannah Cooper
sits behind her desk at Rockwell Mining typing into her computer. She is still
working hard at the company in hopes of proving herself to the family since they
have not been working due to Mortimer's passing. In the back of her mind, however,
she can't help but think about how Mac and Lucinda have treated her poorly. Deep
down, she would like nothing more than to find a way to make them realize that
they aren't so high and mighty.
"If I could find a way to get back
at them, maybe they would start to treat everyone with some respect," she
whispers to herself. "Make them all realize that they are no better than
the rest of us."
She arches her eyebrow quickly. "Maybe working
here is the way that I can do something," she tells herself. "The Rockwell's,
they love this company, maybe using the company is the way to make them all pay."
Before she can say anything else, she hears a ping on her phone. She picks
it up and looks in surprise at the screen. "A news alert," she reads
the screen. "Kent Blackmore returns to Blackmore Ltd. as CEO."
"Hmm,"
she says as she puts her phone down. "Kent is back at Blackmore? This is
interesting, very interesting."
***
Lexington Rockwell steps
off the elevator at Blackmore Ltd. and starts to walk towards the main office.
He can't help but recall how the previous day Houston Blackmore suggested that
he try to convince Kent to not return to the company as CEO. Houston, however,
is unaware that Kent already asked him to return to the company.
Just
as he gets to the door, he sees Houston walking down the hallway towards him.
"Lex, hey," Houston says. "What brings you by?"
Lex
uneasily chuckles back to him. "Oddly enough, it is the offer that you made
me yesterday.."
"Ah that," Houston gulps back to him. He
knows that it is tricky situation because if Kent found out, he would be furious
with him.
Lex looks back at him in surprise. "Ah that? That's all
you have to say? What the hell, Houston?"
"I know, I know,"
Houston replies to him. "I shouldn't have said anything yesterday I likely
overstepped asking you to talk to Kent about returning to work. I know you won't
change his mind, anyways."
"That we can agree on," Lex
uneasily chuckles back to him. "Kent won't change his mind, no matter what
I say."
Before Houston can respond, the door to the main office opens
and Kent appears. "My boys," he says with a grin on his face. "What
is going on out here?"
"We were just, uh, talking," Houston
nervously tells his father.
"Well, Lex, now that you're here, you
can tell me if you've made up your mind about coming back to work here,"
Kent chuckles to his son. "Will you come work with your father and brother?"
***
A short time later, Lex moves into the country club and sees Casper
Ross sitting at the bar, waiting for him.
"Thanks for getting me
a drink," Lex chuckles as he gives Casper a quick kiss on the lips.
"You
made it seem like you needed it," Casper giggles back to him. "What's
going on? Trouble at Blackmore, already?"
"Ugh," Lex groans
back to him before he takes a sip of his whiskey sour. "Houston asked me
to not say anything to Kent, but Kent arrived and asked me to return to Blackmore."
"Wait, what?" Casper asks him in surprise. "How did he change
his mind so quickly?"
"If you only knew Houston," Lex chuckles
back to him.
"So, what did you say to Kent? Did you take the job?"
"I left it with me needing time," Lex admits to him. "I honestly
don't know what to do."
"You need to listen to your gut instincts,"
Casper looks back at his lover. "You're always so well entuned with yourself,
you won't steer yourself wrong."

Stacey Rockwell moves
some suitcases into the living room of the guesthouse that she lives in that is
on the ground of the Rockwell estate. She has decided that she needs to leave
town because her head is spinning over the mess that is her personal life; the
on-going back and forth with her, Kent and Houston Blackmore and Kent's marriage
to Vivian Blackmore has pushed her to the brink. She just hopes that the time
away will be good for her and her mental health.
She looks at her phone
quickly before she looks at the door after the doorbell rings. She takes a deep
breath as she moves to the door. She sees Houston standing on the other side of
the door.
"Thanks for coming," she says as she lets him into
the living room.
"You know that I will always make time for you,
Stacey," Houston replies to her. "What is with the suitcases?"
"That's why I asked you to come over," she reveals to him. "I'm
leaving town for a while. I have no idea when I will be back."
"I
hope you find what you're looking for," he tells her. "I think the time
away will be good for you."
"Me too," she forces a smile
on her face. "Anyways, I wanted you to have some time with Drake before we
leave. He's in his room; I told him that you were stopping by. I would never want
you to miss out on the chance to say goodbye to your son before we leave."
"I really appreciate that Stacey," Houston looks back at her. "Let
me know when you're settled and maybe I can Facetime with him?"
"Absolutely."
***
A short time later, Kent comes out of the children's room and
looks at Stacey, who is placing some more pieces of luggage by the door. He folds
his arms over his chest as he looks at her.
"Poppy is excited for
the trip," he tells her, causing the silence in the room to be broken.
Stacey looks back at him and nods. "Her and Drake can't wait," she
says back to him. "Thanks for saying goodbye to Poppy."
"I
will miss her, and you, while you're gone," Kent replies to her. "I
hope you're not gone for too long."
"I will tell you what I
told Houston earlier," she says. "And that is that I have no idea how
long I will be away. I just know that this time will be good for me."
"I know I have said this before, but it bares repeating," Kent locks
eyes with her. "I am sorry for my role in all of this, Stacey."
"I know you are," Stacey replies to him. "I am sorry too. I
am looking forward to getting my head on straight so I can then focus on being
the best mother to Drake and Poppy."
"You already are a great
Mom," Kent tells her. "Never sell yourself short, Stacey."
***
"The car is packed," Stacey announces to Lydia and Mac
as she stands in the living room of the Rockwell mansion and looks at her parents.
She has come to say goodbye to them before she leaves with her children. "I
just have to say goodbye and I can go."
"Oh darling," Lydia
moves up to her daughter and pulls her into a hug. "I will miss you, please
keep in touch while you're away, okay?"
"I will let you know
when I get settled," Stacey nods back to her as they exit their embrace.
"Please don't be sad that I am leaving, okay?"
"We want
the best for you," Mac looks into her eyes. "And if this will help you
get back on track, then we support you. We will just miss you, Stacey."
"I will miss you both too," Stacey feels her eyes swell with water.
"But this isn't forever, I will be back."
"We love you,"
Lydia tells her. "Never forget that, our beautiful baby girl."
***
A short time later, Mac moves back into the living room of the Rockwell mansion
after seeing Stacey drive away from the property. He hopes that his daughter can
find herself quickly so she can return to Kelsey Lake. Mac sees Lydia at the bar
about to pour herself a brandy.
"You can make me one too," Mac
tells his former wife. "I know that Stacey is doing this to get better, but
it is still hard seeing one of your children leave and be in pain."
"I
know," Lydia turns and passes him a brandy. "Our children, they aren't
so small anymore. They are grown and can make their own decisions."
"It
doesn't mean that it gets easier," Mac chuckles back to her. "But you
are right, our kids, they are good people, aren't they?"
"They've
all made mistakes but yes, they are good people. And Stacey, she is a good girl.
She will be back, I have faith in that."
"I just hope it is
sooner than later," Mac replies to her as he takes a sip of his brandy.
***
The following morning, Lucinda stands in the foyer of the Rockwell
mansion and watches Lydia and Nathan slowly walk down the stairs together. Dane
comes up behind Lucinda and puts his hands on her shoulders.
"Are
you ready for this?" he whispers into her ear as Lydia and Nathan approach
them.
"As ready as I will ever be," Lucinda responds to him.
"Good morning Levi, how are you feeling today?"
"A little
nervous but I am still ready to do this," Nathan responds to her with a slight
nod before he looks back at Lydia.
"Nathan is being very strong and
brave," Lydia announces as Mac moves into the foyer as he heard voices. "The
hospital is waiting for us, so we better get going."
"Good luck,"
Mac tells his brother, who moves up to Lucinda and hugs her. "We are all
rooting for you, Nathan."
"Thank you," Nathan says as he
and Lucinda exit their embrace. "I just need to get better, and this is the
only way I can."
"Come on," Lydia grabs his hand. "Let's
get you to the hospital."
Lucinda watches as her son leaves the house
with Lydia. She feels her lower lip start to tremble as she wonders if Nathan
going to the hospital is the right thing for him; she wants to get to the bottom
of Mortimer's death and hopes that this is the first step in doing that.
***
Mac steps off the elevator at Rockwell Mining and takes a deep breath. It
is his first time being back at the office since Mortimer's death, and immediately,
he is feeling emotional. His father built the company from the ground up, so there
are memories of Mortimer throughout the hallways of Rockwell Mining. He tries
to compose himself as he starts to walk towards the main office. At the door to
the office, he pauses for a moment as he feels his heart racing inside his chest.
"You're fine," he whispers to himself. "You're here because
the company needs you; your father is still with you, more than ever when you
are at the office."
He opens the door and moves inside the office.
His eyes start to look around the office at the bookshelves that are behind the
desk. He moves to the shelves and picks up a picture of himself and Mortimer in
the office. He immediately remembers the day the picture was taken; it was after
Mac was able to secure his first business deal at Rockwell Mining. The look on
Mortimer's face is a mixture of happiness and pride in Mac. Mac puts the picture
back on the shelf as he tries not to get choked up.
"I will make
you proud father," Mac whispers to himself. "Especially with Nathan
being committed to the hospital, I am the lone CEO again. I will not let you down
father, I refuse too."

MOSCOW, RUSSIA
"Okay,
I put on this red suit because I know it is one of Marat's favorite colors,"
Sabine Andrews announces to Deacon Cooper and Quinn Cunningham as she steps out
of the washroom wearing a blood red suit. She has plans to go to the Kremlin today
to see if she can meet with Marat Kafelinkov, who has kidnapped Quinn's son, Jumper.
She knows that she must play her cards right and tell him that losing Jumper has
reinvented Quinn, even though it is a lie. She will be convincing because not
getting Jumper back is not an option.
"You look great Mom,"
Quinn stands up from the sofa and pushes her blonde hair behind her back. "How
are you feeling?"
Sabine takes a deep breath. "I am a little
nervous, but I will make this work. I will not let you down."
"I've
been thinking about something," Deacon says as he moves closer to the women.
"We need to have a way to know if you're in danger, or if Marat has figured
out our plan."
"I can call you if I require assistance,"
Sabine replies to him quickly. "Or send you a text with a code word?"
"That's not enough," Deacon tells her. "If he takes your phone
"
"Then what do you think we should do?" Quinn asks him. "If
Marat harms Sabine, our entire plan will be ruined."
"I don't
think Marat will hurt me," Sabine says back to them. "But I agree, we
need to have some reassurance."
"That's why I want you to wear
this," Deacon reveals a small wire in his hand. "If you can hide this
in your suit, Quinn and I will be able to hear everything that you and Marat are
talking about."
"A wire," Sabine's eyes light up. "That's
a brilliant idea! I'll go put it on now and make sure it works before I leave.
Good thinking, Deacon."
Quinn looks at Deacon and smiles at him.
"Thank you," she purses her lips together. "I really don't think
that I would be able to get through this without you."
"I am
not going anywhere," he winks back to her. "Not until we get Jumper
back."
***
"How are you feeling being back here?"
Cole Rockwell asks his father as he pours himself a glass of water at the bar
in the main office of Rockwell Mining. Cole knows that Mac spent a lot of time
at the company with Mortimer, and since this is his first back at the office since
Mortimer's passing, he can imagine that Mac is feeling rather emotional.
"I
had a moment earlier, I have to admit," Mac sighs back to him. "But
I know that Mortimer would want us to focus and make Rockwell Mining the strongest
company possible."
"That he would," Cole nods back to him.
"We've already done a great job carrying out his legacy, but our next campaign
should honor him in some way. Really make a bold, big splash in the world."
Mac chuckles back to him quickly. "Ironically, I think this deal we are
looking at with Roboto could do just that."
At the door, Dyhannah
Cooper pauses as she listens to Mac and Cole start to have a discussion about
the collaboration between Rockwell Mining and Roboto. She finds herself pausing
at the door so she can hear what they are saying.
"I am excited about
this partnership with Natasha and the rest of the Calimo's," Cole replies
to his father. "This idea of a large, pink, rose cut diamond is really special."
"That it is," Mac nods back to him as Dyhannah arches her eyebrow.
"It will really set us, and Roboto, apart from what anyone else is doing.
And that's why we must make sure this goes off without a hitch, because it would
be the best way to honor Mortimer."
***
Vivian Blackmore
steps off the elevator at the country club and moves down the hallway towards
the door to the suite where Chase Cooper is staying. After she saw her former
husband the previous day, she wanted to check in on him to see how he is doing.
She was worried that Chase and Dyhannah's Cooper's relationship may not be as
solid as she once thought; while she has never liked Dyhannah, she does still
care for Chase and she wants to ensure that he is doing okay.
"Vivian,
this is a surprise," Chase says as he opens the door and sees her standing
in the hallway. "I hadn't seen you in a few weeks and now two day sin a row?
What brings you by?"
Vivian purses her lips together as she moves
into the suite. "Well, I was worried about you after we had our drink yesterday,
Chase. I wanted to stop by and see how you're doing."
"That's
very kind of you," Chase smiles back to her as he closes the door and then
turns to face her. "I'm
I'm doing alright."
"Did you
have the chance to talk to Dyhannah about her spending too much time at Rockwell
Mining?"
"Not yet," Chase admits to her. "I was in
bed by the time she got in last night and she was at the office when I woke up.
She's really putting the time in there, especially because the Rockwell's haven't
been in the office because of Mortimer's passing."
"Well, I
stand by what I told you yesterday," Vivian looks back at him. "The
sooner you communicate with her, the better off you will be."
"I
agree," Chase nods. "I'm
I am just worried that Dyhannah is biting
off more than she can chew, and I don't want her to get in overhead."
***
After her conversation with Chase, Vivian finds herself sitting
at the bar of the country club with a champagne cocktail in front of her. She
takes a sip of it as she thinks about Dyhannah working at Rockwell Mining; while
she hasn't admitted it to Chase, she does think that it is an odd fit. She has
never thought that Dyhannah would get along with the family, yet alone work well
with them.
"You look a million miles away," Houston tells his
mother as he moves up to her. "What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing
that concerns you," Vivian smiles back to him as he sits next to her. "What
about you? You look like you've lost your best friend."
Houston finishes
ordering a scotch from the bartender before he looks back at his mother. "You
haven't heard the latest?"
Vivian arches her eyebrow before she shakes
her head back to him. "Apparently not; what has happened now?"
"It's
Stacey," Houston begins to tell her as he takes a sip of his drink. "She
left town this morning. She took Drake and Poppy and went to, well, we have no
idea where and we have no idea when she will be back."
Vivian takes
a sip of her champagne cocktail while trying to hide the glee on her face. She
has wanted Stacey out of the picture for some time so the fact that she has skipped
town doesn't make her sad at all.
"I know you still care for Stacey,"
Vivian finally replies to him. "But this might be for the best Houston. Without
Stacey around, we all might be able to move on with our lives, the way we should
be."
***
Houston sits at the bar of the country club with
another scotch in front of him. Vivian has since departed, but he wanted to have
another drink as he copes with losing Stacey. He knows that Vivian meant well
because she has been fighting for her marriage to Kent, but he hates that Vivian
is happy that Stacey has left town. While it means that his mother can focus on
her marriage, it means that he is, once again, alone, and without with woman he
loves.
"I could use a drink," Celeste announces to her friend
as she sits next to him. "Cole is still not talking to me."
Houston
takes a sip of his scotch before he looks back at her. "I guess we are in
the same boat," he admits to her quickly. "Because Stacey has left town."
"What?" Celeste gasps back to him as her vodka martini arrives.
"When did that happen? And why?"
"It just happened earlier
today," Houston replies to her. "She was really struggling with the
on-going relationship issues with her, Kent, myself and Vivian; I think she was
almost close to a breakdown."
"My God," Celeste shakes
her head back to him. "I didn't realize things had escalated to that point."
"She needed time away," Houston says. "I am glad that she's
taking her mental health seriously, it just sucks because I am without her. I
really thought that her and I would get back together once she realized that my
parents were going to make their marriage work."
"What is it
with us and wanting a Rockwell, who seemingly doesn't want us back," she
tells him as they lock eyes. "We've been here before, and we are still here."
Houston tries to chuckle back with her. "You are right about that,"
he says before he takes a sip of his drink. "But the heart wants what it
wants, hey?"
"That is true," Celeste nods back to him.
"I don't know if we are fools in love or suckers for punishment."
***
Kent sits behind his desk in the main office at Blackmore Ltd.
and types into his laptop. He has a million things to do now that he is back at
the company and he is jumping in headfirst. He hasn't felt this excited, or motivated,
in a very long time. And if he is honest with himself, he is welcoming the distraction
since Stacey has left town as she needed to get away.
"Well, this
is a sight that I haven't seen in a very long time," a voice calls out at
the door of the office. Kent looks up and sees Lex standing in front of him. "This
office, this company, hasn't been the same without you, Kent."
Kent
smiles back to him as he stands up from behind his desk. "I have to admit,
I have missed this place, more than I thought I had. It's good to be back."
"I am not sure that Houston feels that way," Lex chuckles back to
him. "He was really happy being the CEO of Blackmore Ltd."
"I
know he was," Kent nods back to him as he pours a brandy at the bar. "And
one day, he will go back. But until then, he will still have an executive position
here. And I am hoping that you will think about that job offer and come back to
Blackmore as well."
"That's actually why I am here," Lex
replies to him. "I haven't been able to stop thinking about your job offer.
Kent chuckles back to him. "Please tell me that you've considered it?"
"To be honest, I did consider it," Lex admits to him. "I didn't
realize that I would consider it until the opportunity was presented to me."
"Great, that means you can start
I don't know, now?"
Lex
chuckles back to his father. "Kent, I said I was considering it," he
replies to him. "The truth is though, I need to stay at Rockwell Mining right
now. With everything the family has gone through with Mortimer's passing, I need
to be there for support. I hope you understand?"
"I don't like,"
Kent sighs back to him. "But yes, I do understand your decision."
***
"I bet you can use that drink after the morning you've had,"
Dane says as he moves into the living room of the Rockwell mansion and sees Lucinda
at the bar about to pour herself a glass of red wine. He can only imagine how
she is feeling having seen her son be taken away to be committed to a hospital.
"Yes, seeing Levi in that state," Lucinda tells him before she takes
a sip of her wine. "It was difficult. But I know that he is going to get
the help that he needs to recover."
"Now that we have dealt
with Mortimer's death and Levi is getting the help he needs, maybe you and I could
return our focus to our wedding?" Dane asks her as he moves closer to her.
Lucinda glares back at him as she sets her wine glass down with a loud sign.
"Damnit Dane!" she hisses back to him. "Why are you so determined
to marry me so quickly? What is the urgency?"
"Forgive me, I
thought you wanted to be my wife?"
"I do! But can't you see
that my family is going through turmoil right now? We are still grieving the loss
of Mortimer and we have no idea what the doctors are going to say about Levi!
The last thing on my mind is a wedding!" Lucinda tells him in a stern voice.
"I understand," Dane uneasily nods back to her. "I was just
thinking that a wedding might bring some happiness and joy to our lives right
now. But I can understand why you need more time."
"Thank you,"
Lucinda replies to him. "I am sorry for snapping, I am just under a great
deal of stress right now."
Dane pulls her into a hug as he sighs
to himself, as he is left wondering if Lucinda will ever be ready to marry him
or if there will always be something going on in the Rockwell family that will
be the next delay.
***
Dyhannah sits at the bar of the country
club with a vodka in front of her. In her mind is racing over how she was thinking
that she could use her position at Rockwell Mining to, somehow, get back at the
Rockwell's. And then, earlier, she learned that Kent was back at Blackmore Ltd.
and she overheard Mac and Cole talking at Rockwell Mining about their collaboration
with Roboto and Natasha Calimo.
"Maybe there is something there,"
she whispers to herself before she takes a sip of her vodka. "This could
be the way that I could really screw over Mac, the Rockwell's and, hell, even
Rockwell Mining."
She chuckles to herself as she opens her purse
and pulls out her cell phone. She quickly dials a number and then places the phone
to her ear. "Kent, it's Dyhannah," she purses her lips. "I'm good,
thank you. A little birdie told me that you were back at Blackmore Ltd?
That's wonderful, listen, I need to see you first thing tomorrow morning. Can
you squeeze me into your calendar?
Wonderful, I will see you and Kent,
you won't regret this," she says as a grin creeps over her face.

Lydia paces back and forth in a small waiting room of a health center where
she has taken Nathan. When she arrived, Nathan was immediately taken by some doctors
to do a full assessment and now, she is waiting to hear something. The waiting,
however, is driving her crazy as she would love to know what is going on. Time
feels like it is moving at a very slow pace, like she is standing still, which
is why she continues to pace back and forth; she needs something to keep the blood
flowing in her veins.
She finally takes a deep breath when she sees a
doctor moving into the waiting room. "You must be Lydia Rockwell?"
"Yes, I am. I am Nathan's wife," Lydia responds to the female doctor.
"I am Doctor Zhang," she replies to her quickly. "Me and my
team have finished our initial assessment of Nathan."
"Okay?
How is he?"
"He's not well," Doctor Zhang admits to her.
"He keeps hearing these voices and I am not sure where they are coming from.
We will have to do a lot of work with him in a closer capacity to understand where
the mental illness is coming from and what it could be."
Lydia uneasily
nods back to her. "What does that mean, exactly?"
"With
your permission, I'd like to admit Nathan to our psychiatric ward and run more
tests on him."
"The psych ward? Is that really necessary?"
"I believe it is, yes," the Doctor nods back to her. "Do I
have your permission?"
"Yes, yes, of course," Lydia finds
herself saying. "Whatever it will take to get Nathan better."
"Thank
you," the Doctor replies to her. "I'll get the paperwork ready and then
come get you when it's time to sign."
"Thank you," Lydia
tells her as the doctor leaves the room. As soon as Lydia is alone, a smile creeps
over her face. "This is perfect," she whispers to herself. "Just
perfect."
