SEASON SEVEN: Helen is the detective that was assigned to Nathan's shooting. She learned Nathan was awake and asked him who shot him. He claimed it was Mac, so Helena arrested him. Sabine told Helena that she found footage of Carmen breaking into Mac's suite, so Helena agreed to pause the execution. Once Mac was saved, Helena apologized to him for what happened. To her surprise, Mac asked Helena to dinner and she accepted.

SEASON EIGHT: Helena was romanced by Mac and they started to fall in love with one another. Helena was taken by him and they became lovers. Helena was, then, offered a job by Nathan to be his security while he worked on a special ring that he was making for Sabine. Taken by the romantic gesture, Helena agreed. While they were working together, they grew closer and shared a kiss. Helena told him that she was in love with Mac, but she couldn't stop thinking about Nathan. They ended up in bed together, but both agreed not to say anything. Helena almost told Mac the truth but she was interrupted. On Nathan's wedding day to Sabine, he announced the affair to everyone! Gutted, Helena rushed off. Mac found her and demanded answers; she admitted that it was true and pleaded with him for forgiveness, but he dumped her.

CHRISTMAS - JINGLE BELL ROCK: Helena was back on the scene when Quinn revealed that her son, Jumper, was missing. Helena was able to get the security footage from the Rockwell Mansion and realized that Marat kidnapped his son. On Christmas Day, Helena told Quinn that they had found Marat in Moscow. Lex, meanwhile, visited the detective and asked her to open a missing persons report on Casper. Unlike Jumper, Helena wasn't able to locate Casper.
